ant1
hi all, well i fell off the motogp2 bandwagon pretty early due to impossible custom bike tests and wankers worrying about their best times, yawn. decided to load it up a few nights ago and fell into a room that was one lap madness for every course (turns out it's a league called dirty lappers). well needless to say it was the most fun i've had with motgp since beta days. so... anyone up for a night of anything goes racing  . i promise i'll play nice 8) peace ant1
Romier S
Man, I wish they had Moto 2 on that Toys R Us buy one get one free list. I've still yet to get to buying it. (and I loved the first game too!). The Live play will be a blast but is the single player as compelling as the first title? I just need to make a custom LCVG bike and upload it somewhere
Buck
well needless to say it was the most fun i've had with motgp since beta days. Those were some fun times indeed, Ant I'm glad to see you over here and I'm always down for some MotoGP madness Maybe we can get a room going tonight or tomorrow? I just need to make a custom LCVG bike and upload it somewhere I've had it, I'm going to load up GP 2 right now and take a pic of my bike, then it's time to..... JOUST BIOTCH!!! ant1
well to be honest i only got motogp1 on the beta demo disc and promptly ran out to rent the game so that i could build my custom bike.so no experience to really compare to as it was fairly quickly done (custom bike building) trying to accomplish that on motogp2 is a hair pulling, i give up i don't have enough time in my life for this, kinda deal . my impression of the single player game is that the bot racers are completely unrealistic and unfair(always taking you down but you can't move them an inch) . i found it a cheap way to make the game harder. i find that racing bots doesn't hold a candle to 16 real live racers. although the bots don't drunkingly yell in your ear. now if only i could hire a 16yr old to come hang out and build my bike while i work, all would be good. but these new leagues have renewed my interest in motogp2. so i have to ride a default bike, life goes on... i strongly suggest if anyone is sick of scoreboard racers to give this type of race a try. peace ant1
ant1
hey buck, glad you to be here! would love to race and take out some mofos' in the corners  . when is another issue, i'll try tonite or tomorrow. it'll have to be late 12-1 e.s.t. between work, renovations, girlfriend, power failures i have had little live time. hope i get on the track tonite. peace ant1
stillfastasleep
Interestingly enough, I played a bit of motogp2 last night for the first time in a while. Suprisingly, I wasn't as rusty as I thought I would be. I'm up for a little racing. I'll look for you, ant.
Graeme
I still play all the time, and did a Mad Max (dirty lapper) league race last night. I'm not a huge fan of it, but it is a nice alternative from time to time (I'd prefer the same thing with 3 laps). If you see me online, send me an invite... but that goes for anytime, and any game (that I have).
Robot Monkey
Graeme, is a Mad Max league set up specifically for bad behavior? That sounds like silly fun. I had an All Thumbs League, so why not a Middle Finger League? -j
Graeme
It's basically no rules racing for 1 lap on every track. They also have one person per race designated to run backwards and try to cause as much trouble as possible. It's not too serious, and as far as I know, anyone can join in on the qualifying races each week. It's equally good as a stress releaser and inducer http://www.xblracing.com for the skinny. ant1
drunkohm i agree that more than one lap would be more fun. what's great about the 1 lap however is that it does not take too long to finish a tseason, and for someone who has limited live time i get to hang out till the end. i just found it refreshing to have collisions on, and that you are not allowed to moan when taken down. i never really understood the appeal of actually getting to race other people without collisions. though i did understand the need for it, at one point it was nearly impossible to get a room without some jerk racing backwards or noobs going full throttle into turns. robot monkey, middle finger racing, sounds like a keeper. peace ant1
Baiter
It's equally good as a stress releaser and inducer http://www.xblracing.com for the skinny. This isn't the site for the dirty lappers. They actually ripped the entire concept off and called it mad max. The guys that run the dirty lappers post start times and results at http://www.gamefaqs.com, forums.xbox.com, and http://www.motogpxbl.com. Why settle for a cheap imitation when you can enjoy the original.
Graeme
This isn't the site for the dirty lappers. I never said it was. My post: I still play all the time, and did a Mad Max (dirty lapper) league race last night. The question: Graeme, is a Mad Max league set up specifically for bad behavior? To which I replied. And anyway, I don't really care who started it. Does it really matter? People have been setting up dirty lappers on XBLRacing for quite some time, only recently have they organized it into somewhat of a league. rustyjaw
Yes, fill us in please. I need to pick this game up again, it's really a superb racer, very deep. Glicthes huh? Hopefully they can fix them with an update...
rustyjaw
Well, I went over to xblracing.com and it looks like at least three tracks have glitches; Phakisa, Sepang and Valencia. Someone even posted the way to work the Valencia glitch, which is probably a good idea since soon enough all the top times there will be glitches. On a good note, there's another thread there that claims that Climax and MS are discussing how to fix the problem, the running theory is that they will simply delete all of the 'impossible' times. We'll see.
Graeme
All the top times on Valencia are now around 30 seconds, with the top 200 or so being under or around 40 seconds. Sepang has a similar glitch which has shaved a little over 10 seconds off the top "real" times (as far as we know). As far as I understand, there's a bug in the game where if you go backwards, offroad, you can get the game to reset your lap time when you cross the 3rd split, essentially giving you your time from that split to when you cross the line. Graeme
While the decision is up to both MS and THQ and what to do about it (if anything, since they didn't do anything with MGP1), I think it would be really good for Microsoft to pony up some of the dough to get this fixed for the good of their XBL service. There's really no reason for THQ to be all that concerned except in the hope of continued sales of the title (which doesn't sell a huge amount to begin with unfortunatly). I really hope something is done, as this doesn't seem like it would be too hard to fix.
Sam P
Forgive my slight OT post. Graeme, I've been wondering whether you were actively posting on this forum, but all I had to do was click on the first MotoGP thread I saw. Problem solved. Anyway, just saying hi. Though I can't really imagine the drunk guy from Virtua Fighter riding a sportbike at competition speeds. The guy can't even stand up straight. Graeme
Hey Sam.... nothing more to say since I've got you on ICQ at this very moment. Back to the MGP2 thread.
rustyjaw
I found this message over on the XBLracing forums about the cheating and what MS may do...as he says, this isn't gospel, but it is interesting: Just talked to someone that is pretty high up in the food chain at Microsoft's Xbox Live Division. He said that they are very aware of this problem and so is THQ. They are working out the details on the feasibility of creating, testing and implementing a patch. They realize all to well that the integrity of the live scoreboards are at stake. After the patch is implemented, they will do a global reset on the scoreboards. Like I said, this guy is pretty high up in the food chain. He responded with all of the above when I asked him the simple question of "Is Microsoft aware of the MotoGP problem?". Don't take any of this as gospel.......just relaying what he told me, but it does sound promising. But don't expect a fix overnight.........you're talking about a major bureaucracy here, but they also realize that time is of the essence and the longer this goes on, the more damage it does to their reputation and the integrity of their scoreboards. As an aside, he also said that he is surprised that this wasn't fixed before the game was released...........It looks like the arrows and finger pointing has already begun........... Can't say I'm too excited about losing my times, then again maybe it would be good to have a fresh start. I really enjoyed playing the game, but then stopped and haven't gone back for probably 10 weeks...it would take me a while to get back to the level I was at anyway... Graeme
A global reset would be required to make sure there were no glitched times in any way on the scoreboards. I'm not holding my breath, but I am holding onto some hope.
