The Loyd needs your help

After the members of Supergroup logged off last night, The Loyd, returned to his contact only to be infected with the Vahzilok disease. First I've got a showdown with Patient Zero and his goons to rid myself of the disease and then if I remember correctly, the showdown with the Doc (no, not the healer, Dave :P ) himself.

I've got school tonight, but should be back around 10:30. Hope to see some heroes there :tu:

Crap crap crap crap! , etc I won't be able to join tonight until around 10:00 (1:00 EST) at which time, I would imagine, you'll all be calling it a night.

I'll be on Virtue around that time probably if you want to hook up and do some missions tonight or whatever.....

PoisonJane shall answer the call! And if you want to attack .Doc the anti-healer as well, I'd be all for that. :tu:

I'm having an awful lot of fun with my new fire blaster, especially now that she's hit her first "sweet spot" at level 16 (both AoE attacks 6-slotted, super speed, and smoke grenade). Teamed with Scott's blaster and Joel's scrapper we were able to take on groups of 8-12 mobs that were 4-5 levels higher than me in Boomtown. She still hits the dirt a lot more than I'm used to from my tanker days, but I'm learning to accept that I'll always have some amount of debt in my exp bar. Life as an AoE blaster, I guess. :P

And oh, the interesting people we meet on Liberty! First it was "cazyone", the bossy little illiterate electricity blaster who play-style alternated between instructing everyone else on how to play their characters, attacking huge groups of hydras before the group was ready and relying on the rest of the team to bail his ass out, and nattering on in the chat window in a language that had only the vaguest resemblance to the English I learned in school. Happily for us, he added Loyd and me to his friend's list and every time we log on he pesters us to let him join. At least, that's what I think he's saying. It's usually something like "U guyz mund iff i jrn yo?" He also begged to be added to our SuperGroup, but Scott told him that Pooky was the leader and he had to contact her.

Then last night we ran into .Doc in Boomtown; a healer who seemed to think his greatest asset was his mighty brawl power. It was only after some patient instruction by Scott that he learned to hang back, allow the two blasters to do the fighting, and (gasp) even heal one of us once in a while! Although to his credit, he was quick with the heals after the fight was over and I was kneeling down trying to gain my health back. Boy, he couldn't heal me fast enough at that point. Thanks, buddy, I'm already gaining 100hp per second because I'm RESTING! But you just shaved .3 seconds off of my rest time, so I forgive you not healing me at all when I was taking on four reds and two purples while you were whiffing while trying to connect with your brawl on a single minion. :bang:

Beauty! I'm looking forward to letting Nannou stretch his legs a bit. [/b]

Provided that Virtue is actually up and running, I could certainly switch to 'nique at that time, too...

As long as there is no wedding it should be fine :) This is why the server crashed the other night, incase you guys didn't know.

"Hey, lets hold an event tonight."

"Ok, where should we meet?"

"Let's meet under the Atlas statue."

"Isn't that area heavily populated?"

"Yeah, what's your point?"

"We might end up crashing the server do to excessive load?"

"True, but then people might not see our Uber event and actually might try to play the game."

"Ok, sounds good."

"Don't forget to bring the AoE heals!!"

:P

Clearly Virtue, the official role playing server, was perhaps not the best choice for our characters. If they're having parades, weddings, dance parties, etc in order to more fully flesh out the role playing aspects of the game Cryptic will need to invest in some more hardware for that server.

Its the "unofficial" RP server and that is indeed part of the problem. The other issue is that Virtue was one of the original beta servers so naturally everyone migrated right back to it (along with Justice). Consequently, its got one of the largest populations in the game which doesn't help stability in general. I'm not too terribly worried about it right now. When we first jumped on Star Wars Galaxies a few us played on Starsider the largest pop server on SWG) and it was unstable as hell. SOE got that issue worked out very quickly and Cryptic will do the same.

As far as porting characters over, I doubt Cryptic will let you. Hell SOE charged 40 bucks to simply change a character name and that was after four years of EQ being Live. Really don't want to be pessimistic in that regard but I don't have high hopes.

I'm about to hit the same mission tonight, if you guys want another go at the Doc. I logged off right before I took the mission that gives me the disease, so I have to run that one, Patient Zero, and then the Doc.

If you're sick of zombie puke, though, I understand. :)

Thanks, Scott, I knew I could count on you. Yeah, 10pm for me, unless you have school again? And Shawn, any and all heroes are welcome! We normally have two blasters, a scrapper, and sometimes an illusion controller (is that what Loca is, Joey?), although I don't know who is going to be on tonight besides Scott and I. Adding either a tanker or a controller would work out nicely.

I will choose based on my mood at the time, then. Heliosphan is so snazzy that I just might feel like pulling him out to show off. Zhiv, on the other hand, has a lot of bottled rage that he needs to get out of his tiny frame and only a couple of hours of repeated abuse can squelch that.

Such a quandry...
