Chris F
Well, I judging by the "Stupidest Wrestling Move" thread going on in the Polls section of our little forum, I can surmise there are some wrestling fans around here. I figured maybe we'd have a weekly thread discussing televised shows, PPVs, etc. So I'll throw out my thoughts so far this week: Vengeance PPV Thoughts - Weak. It's sad when a "could be" great champ like Benoit has to win because Eugene knocked Triple H the fuck out. Sure let's have our champ get WAILED on, making him look weak, and he wins when a very "special" person inadvertantly helps him. There wasn't a single memorable match that whole night. Edge / Randy Orton was ok, although it was tough to take an Edge win with the amount of Orton lovers chanting during the match. I wonder if they were surprised by how much love Orton was getting that night? Funny moment - When Tajiri was going to come out, no one knew who his partner would be. My quote to my friend: "I bet it's Rhyno. He;s got nothing better to do." /cue Rhynos music. Monday Night Raw Thoughts - Ok, this made up for the weak PPV. I much prefer Triple H when he's a humorous heel. These new Raw Divas need to eat a few sandwiches or something. If you look at them wrong you'll break their arms or legs. DAMN. Tyson Tomko vs. Maven. Why god, why. Why must I endure these two anymore? This whole Kane / Lita baby story is just going NOWHERE. Everyone knows it's MY baby! Mmmmm. Amy Dumas. Someone PLEASE give Jericho a belt. This guy always puts 100%, and the stuff he did on Raw to provoke Kane? Priceless. I was in tears. This man needs a serious push. Please kill Ric Flair and the Hurricane. Thank you. While I'm wishing, I'd like a pony too. Ok, I like Benoit. But he just makes a sucky champ when Triple H gets all the damn mic time. I'd like to take this time to addre4ss Eugene. Ok. I rolled my eyes and hated you when you first came to the WWE. I couldn't stand to watch you. But you've grown on me. ANd you're damn funny. Plus you're an ok wrestler. You looked damn good fighting Benoit on Raw. You're ok in my book. P.S. Please don't get hit in the head and get that "special-ness" knocked out of you. Ok, and NWWL - That's Naked Women's Wrestling League. - http://www.nwwl.com/
JoeyN
I tape Wrestling these days and only watch a select few matches. Eugene stuff, Jereicho, Orton, Rock (when hes on) and Benoit. Otherwise i cant stand it anymore. The same old crap for the last 3 years. To quote one of my favorite departed wrestlers. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH AND ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE capt
Chris F
Dude, it's the same crap they've been doing for 20 years, let alone 3 years. TO me it's just as enjoyable - especially seeing the new up and comers, and some of the elderly trying to rekindle their youth. My main issues are the storylines at the moment. Plus I think the two brands in the WWE (Raw & Smackdown) are lopsided. Raw needs more cruiserweights. Smackdown needs a bigger draw than the Undertaker. I also think the rosters are too bloated at the moment. Too many guys that they can get rid of, who aren't doing anything, or who shouldn't be there in the first place. EnemaEms
For awhile now I have only been catching the 1st hour of RAW and the Overrun. THe 2nd hour of RAW is reserved for American Chopper. :tu: I will say this, the Eugene/HHH segments have been gold lately and last nights was no different. HHH has really been in top form lately. Good Mic time and matches. Hope he keeps it up. Oh, and the man has now lost 3 out of his last four PPV matches. Who would of ever thought that would of happened. As for Smackdown, that show needs to be taken out back and put out of its misery. Bradshaw as champ? Puh-lease. The only thing worth a fuck on that show is Heyman. -Dean-
Chris F
I agree about Smackdown needing a complete overhaul Dean. I wish the cruiserweights got more airtime. It's nice to see Kidman with a belt though. Oh the wondrous things I could do to the Smackdown brand if they let me write for them.
JoeyN
They have done the same stuff for 30 years but they used different guys. Everything on raw has to do with HHH . He should have went to smackdown and stayed there. capt
Guest Bryan
Is Baron Von Rasche still the champ? He was the greatest, and that's all the people need to know.
Chris F
Everything on raw has to do with HHH When you're married to the bosses daughter, that gets you a LOT of airtime. But I have to say the past few weeks Triple H has improved a LOT. I almost wouldn't have been upset if he beat Benoit at Vengeance. Almost. Calvin
I just got back from Smackdown here in Providence, & I must say I was impressed. I think you'll like what you'll see on Thursday
Starhawk
Nice writeup above, Chris! I like this idea, even though I am like Joey and I am not watching wrestling nearly as much as I used to. I'm still trying to figure out what it is exactly that I dont like about it as much. I will have to disagree with you on one thing. Yes, you can kill The Hurricane, but leave Flair alone! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! *struts like Flair out of the room*
Guest Bryan
Does anyone remember when The Baron gave himself the claw and knocked himself out? That was a very scary week until the show came on the next Saturday and said he was resting comfortably in the hospital.

Chris F
Nice writeup above, Chris! Thanks! The problem with this is that I don't watch TNA on a consistent basis, so I can't really do a writeup about it every week. Although I did watch it a few weeks ago, and I enjoyed their X Division wrestlers. These guys are far and away better than anyone I've seen on WWE so far - at least in terms of actual high flying wrestling. They did have some stupid storylines going on in their 2 hour weekly PPV, but the X Division match was outstanding. They really are amazing. I also liked the 6 sided ring. It added a new dimension in a few of the matches, and was entertaning to see people use it to their advantages.

Chris F
When does it come on? TNA isn't as large as WWE, so they have a weekly "PPV", for like 10$ on Wednesday nights. They also have a recap show, and a smaller show (Think like WWE Heat or Velocity) on cable. I don't know about the dates or times though.
EnemaEms
TNA Impact is on Fox Sports Network. I believe the time is 3:00 PM Eastern time on Friday. -Dean-

He should just grab Cena, Guererro, Angle, and the cruiserweights and just drop the rest into the friggin' dump. Vince is too enamored with big guys like the Undertaker, A-train, Justin Blowjob Layfield and Matt Morgan and stupid go-nowhere gimmicks like friggin' Mordecai (GROAN) to give a damn about his fans or guys like Billy Kidman who can walk to the ring in dead silence and get the fans to chant "Holy shit" three times during a match. Wake up, Vince. Your house shows are averaging 1,500 people. Quit killing your friggin' product. Oh, by the way, give Booker T the damn belt before he's forced into retirement due to his injuries. And while you're at it stick RVD in rehab so he can pull off good matches again. So, now that that's out of the way, I say we each take turns pretending we're Vince and list what we'd do if we owned the WWE: who stays, who goes, whether or not the brand extension gets merged, etc. We can dream, can't we??? Calvin
I'd cut back on the 16 PPV per year down to 4-6 & make them something worthwhile again. I'd also see if Sting was willing to anything to try & bring in some old-school fans in. I'd give Booker T the belt in a heartbeat - & make sure that Triple H never wears it again. I'd also give the cruiserweights more airtime - people were booing Paul London at the Smackdown taping Tuesday until he pulled off a surprise move for the win. John Cena??? He reminds me of Marky Mark  Some good moves though.
Guest Bryan
How about selling half of the product to an unrelated entity? Competition is good.
Chris F
Ok, here's what I'd do: 1. Don't merge Smackdown & Raw. Keep each as a separate entity. Don't combine the two until you get to one of the... 2. 6 PPVs per year. Build up some single Raw & single SD matches, but have a few crossovers. 3. Retire the oldies - Flair, 'Taker, Trips, etc. 4. Send the sucky, no storyline wrestlers to OVW, or give 'em their pink slips. We're talking La Resistance, Tyson Tomko, Charlie Haas, Nunzio, Chuck Palumbo, etc. 5. Send some of the cruiserweights to Raw to shake things up a bit. 6. No more tag teams. Ugh. I'm still thinking of some more stuff I'd do...
