Failsafe
http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/07/22/obit...h.ap/index.html Such sad news. He was 75 and had battled cancer for a long time. Think I'll listen to some of his Star Trek work today. Ridley Scott had some nice comments about him in his commentary on the original Alien 20th Anniversary DVD (the opening scenes). Carlucci
For me, the music from "Rudy" is among the most inspirational and rousing I have ever heard. I'll listen to it again tonight in his Honor. Rest In Peace, Jerry. Carlos.
Angry the Clown
Really news I've been dreading for a couple of years now since I first heard of his battle with cancer. I've seen him conduct the London Symphony Orchestra on a number of occasions, and a few months ago now attended his 75th Birthday which he had to personally pull out of conducting due to his doctor's orders. That, along with him pulling out of doing his most recent film assignments, were really the worst possible signs that it was going to be his last year.        Daniel
Calvin
This is very sad news. He has composed some beautiful works over the years, like the European release of Legend - & even the fairly recent The Sum Of All Fears was excellent. Not to mention the personal stamp that he put on the Star Trek universe... He will be missed

Angry the Clown
StreamingSoundtracks.com (a terrific site incidentally) is streaming some of Jerry's music all day. You can listen in to the stream here: http://www.streamingsoundtracks.com/module...me=Queue_Played Daniel
JFo
This is sad news indeed. I think I'll throw in my The Black Hole soundtrack tonight when I get home from work. It may have been a crappy movie, but his wonderful score makes it worth watching. He will be missed.
