MrMike
Never in the past have I ever had a problem with fed ex. Up until now. I'm getting the pieces together for a new PC. I order a sound card and power supply via amazon since I have a ton of amazon dollars piled up. Figure I'd order those 2, then when they come in I'll order the rest via newegg. Sound card ships via amazon and UPS. Power Supply is actually sent to office depot and shipped via Fed ex. Same shipping address on both. They both ship the same day. Both are set to arrive the same day. Sound card is sitting at my desk at work when I get in in the morning. Power Supply via fed ex is listed as cannot locate recipient on the online tracking. So I call them up. Ends up that Office Depot combined address 1 and address 2 fields into 1 field which made it too long so part of the address with suite number was cut off. Ok, no big deal, correct it over the phone with fed ex. Package should be tried again the next day. That is today. Get into work its on the truck out for delivery. Get into work and fed ex truck is parked out back. Try to find the guy in the hall, can't find him, figure just let him do his job. Fed ex truck leaves without delivering my package. Think, ok, must be on a later truck. I'll wait. At 1:52pm tracking changes to say incorrect address. :wtf: I call them back up, relate whole story. Fed ex guy says we need to assign it to a tracker to handle my case. I ask how I can get in touch with these people and he says I can't since the person hasn't been assigned yet and will usually take a few hours. Since its fed ex ground it could take up to 24 hours before someone calls me. The address I gave them I put into their online fed ex address verification system and it tells me it is a valid address. I ask around at work to find out the format that people have used for fed ex packages shipping to our office. I've got it correct, the problem is the moron fed ex guy seems to be having a problem finding our suite number. I mean its not that hard, you follow the signs in the building and they point the way. If I don't hear anything by lunch tomorrow I'm calling again and telling them that they are incompetant. UPS managed to find me with no problems with the same address but their driver can't. The worst case is it gets shipping back to office depot which I would then probably lose the amazon dollars used toward purchasing it and have to pay full price. This would push me over the edge. I have a Geforce 6800 ultra on order via evga.com. It is supposed to ship on the 2nd but they use both UPS and fed ex. They were given the same address as this current order. If they pick fed ex I fear I may have to go through this whole thing again. Newegg uses fed ex also as does zip zoom fly. At this pace its going to take me months to get my new pc built. foogledricks
Wow, are you like ME or something. I just ordered parts for a new computer from various places, including NewEgg, the card I got was an eVGA, and a bunch of stuff just came today from Fedex. MrMike
I just got my shipping notification for my ultra card from evga. UPS ground, I know they at least know how to find my office. I'm gonna order the rest of the stuff tonight, as I continue to play with fedex to find my power supply.
Ryan FB
Interesting, I've actually had fewer problems with FedEx than UPS. Mainly that FedEx ground arrives much faster for me than UPS ground. Althought UPS does seem more willing to leave random objects at my door rather than being ultra-anal about getting a signature. YMMV. dogbert
I'm with Ryan - better experiences with Fedex than UPS. UPS seem super-anal about signatures & rerouting deliveries, plus Fedex are much easier to swing by the depot to pick up a parcel from. Currently waiting on a replacement DVDROM in the mail from UPS right now...
MrMike
FedEx finally delivered today. I never recieved a phone call like they said I would and never received any replies to emails. This is the first time I've ever had a problem with fedex which is really strange. It was fedex ground which I believe is handled a lot differently than normal express. So maybe that was the problem.
