Romier S
Alright so I know this is a longshot but I'm desperately looking to buy a copy of System Shock 2 for the PC. I've not been able to find a copy of my own for a very long time and would love to own this fantastic game again. If you are interested in selling or know of a good source that I can buy from (not Ebay) then please feel free to PM me and we'll work something out. Thanks, Romier S. Mark E
Unless I'm wrong, EA has the rights to System Shock 2. It showed up in their cheapware line for a while at the very least. And I'm willing to bet good, good money that EA hasn't let a copyright from a couple years ago lapse. Showing up on Underdogs does not necessarily construe abandonware (a term which is nebulous at best). I realize that this is not related to the 'looking to buy' post so I will be brief, but downloading it is not a proper, legal recourse. Ryan FB
The only place I've been able to find it for sale online (other than the aforementioned eBay) is here, but apparently shipping is ~AU$30 and they practically require a blood sample.:? I'll keep an eye open for it in the bargain bins at the local game stores though.
General Zot
Why no abandonware allowed? It's uh, well, abandoned and all...
blackcalx
"Abandonware" is a touchy subject. Most programs labeled abandonware are still the IP of somebody. System Shock 2, for example, is still owned by EA. It may be out of print, but the copyright is still legally owned. Therefor downloading and installing it would violate copyright. Correct and well put.
LupinLives
Why don't you call EA games and see if they have any copies left?
General Zot
Did you own a copy you lost, or never owned the game? If you lost it, I would just snag an online copy and consider it a "backup". They already sold SS2 as a $10 jewel case version, so it isn't coming back IMO. Call EA and see if they can help you find one. If they aren't interested or have no idea what SS2 is, I would definitely consider it abandoned. PS - I gave my copy to my brother few years ago, I can check if he still has it or not. I seriously doubt he does, but you never know. Romier S
Did you own a copy you lost, or never owned the game? If you lost it, I would just snag an online copy and consider it a "backup". I owned System Shock 2 years ago and simply got rid of it and have been kicking myself ever since for having done so. So this thread is an attempt to BUY an ACTUAL COPY of the game as I would love to add it to my PC game collection. I can easily download the game from a million sites but that is not what I am looking for here. I don't want a "backup". I do appreciate the recommendations but I want the game, preferrably with box and instructions. I'm not much for just having a CDR with "SS2" written on it in black marker. General Zot
Yeah, I gave a boxed copy to my brother years ago with game disc, manuals, receipt, whatever. I can check if you want (but it's likely gone)...

General Zot
OK, I'll set it in motion. Ask him next time we talk.
Ryan FB
If you still haven't found a copy, I was looking around for some older games and stumbled across Game Trading Zone. There seem to be a few people who have it available for sale or trade.
General Zot
Oh yeah, I got this from my brother in law about a month ago. No box/manual anymore, but the jewel disc with original discs. Still want it?
