kelley
Note to MS, quit releasing things as part of series, first one does well/great then every next version your sales cut in half easily.

Which surprises me with a game like PGR2 - as much as I enjoyed the first, I thought the second was much better than the first. Then again, it hasn't been out as long so the numbers aren't up. And I guess being a launch title (or close to it?) helped out the first PGR, perhaps?
Romier S
And I guess being a launch title (or close to it?) helped out the first PGR, perhaps? It was a launch title and you are correct in saying it helped its numbers.
Parrish
Wow - those Crimson Skies & PGR2 sales are depressing. Even the original Rallisport didn't do that well. Halo is a super game and all, but it seems crazy that it has sold 5x as much as those three put together. Such great games deserve much more play. Romier S
Considering how I'm usually harping about how underappreciated games like Metal Arms, Panzer Orta etc. sit on shelves, I have to wonder what in the world Xbox owners are playing? You have, on that list, some of the biggest releases on the Xbox (and a few of them top tier Xbox Live games) yet thier sales numbers are just sop underwhelming. Besides Tom Clancy games what in the world are Xbox owners playing??!

I've had more than a few conversations with people who regard their Xbox as simply the system they play Halo on.
Graeme
Some of the older titles numbers are probably also boosted by the fact that they've been Platinum titles for quite some time also.
iainl
So Halo and PGR are their only million-sellers? Hmm, I didn't know that.
Carlucci
How many xbox consoles have been sold? I want to get an understanding of the ratio to Halo to Xbox sales. Carlos.
Guest Bryan
I guess I'm happy to see that Links eclipsed 100,000 units sold. I'm surprised that it leads Amped 2. Here's hoping for another version next year!
DataTox
I too was happy to see the Links numbers. As far as next year, I heard that the contract with EA stated that MS could not release any competing sports games for 12 months. So, if true, that means that with the release of Tiger Woods on Live, then there will be no new Links until close to the end of 2005. Of course, the guy at my local GameCrazy could have been talking out of his posterior. (also sorry if this is old news).
dogbert
How many xbox consoles have been sold?I want to get an understanding of the ratio to Halo to Xbox sales. Around 10.1 million in North America (from the Microsoft's financial report released in July). So Halo and PGR are their only million-sellers? Hmm, I didn't know that. There are no third party releases listed there, remember, and these figures are US only. For instance, the GTA Double Pack & Splinter Cell have both sold over 1 million in the US on the XBox. Of course, the guy at my local GameCrazy could have been talking out of his posterior. That's been suspected but never confirmed (both the EA contract and the GameCrazy employee's bum talking)
Beer Monkey
then there will be no new Links until close to the end of 2005. Damn. Is TW2005 Live-Aware? Foursomes and Live-Aware is what I really want the most in an online golf game.

Beer Monkey
TW2005 will only support two players in an online game. Yeah, I knew that. If it were Live Aware, I'd have to overlook that.
hollismb
Yeah, it's been confirmed that there won't be a Links 2005, along with the other sports games from Microsoft.
JoeyN
No Links 2005 but it was mentioned somehwere on the xbox.com boards that a new links is being worked on for eventual release. To tell ya the truth. They should just hold the new sports stuff over so they can be launch titles on the next xbox system. capt

That said, looks like Links 2004 will continue to get much gameplay until the next itteration. I tried the last TW game and much preferred the controls and physics of Links. The fact that TW2005 will only have 2 player online, I will definitely be sticking to Links. Hopefully enough other people will in the Live community so that games can be found. While I don't usually play sports games with people outside of my friend's list, I have found that the Links community displays a level of maturity (for the most part) not found on most other Live games. Again, back to the topic at hand, I am also really surprised at the numbers for Amped 2. I have really enjoed this game and still throw it in when I just want to screw around and listen to music. With all of the EA contract craziness, has there been any word on an Amped 3? With those sales numbers, I am a little concerned that it will not happen. Adam Tyner
Yikes, pitiful sales for Voodoo Vince. It wasn't a remarkably brilliant game or anything, but I had a lot of fun with it...enough that I'd considering buying a sequel. You know you're doing poorly when Grabbed by the Ghoulies flops but still sells almost twice as many copies.
Romier S
It wasn't a remarkably brilliant game or anything, but I had a lot of fun with it Same. It definitely deserved better (especially irksome to see Blinx outsell it as its 10X the game).

I doubt it will, which is a shame, because as much as I love the Tricky games, I enjoyed the fact that Amped took such a different approach to the sport. variety is nice. dogbert
I doubt it will I wouldn't be so sure. I'm honestly not expecting another "round" of Microsoft sports games on the XBox, I think the next bunch will be for Xbox 2 unless it gets delayed.
