Guest Bryan
Thought I'd start this thread up so we can post new information as it becomes available. I saw a post on the Xbox forums that listed the courses in TW2005: Pebble Beach Harbour Town Sherwood CC Colonial CC Fancourt Links Turnberry Edgewood St Andrews TPC at Sawgrass Troon North Monument Coeur d'Alene Greek Isles Paradise Cove Emerald Dragon This is not confirmed, but looks to be a nice selection! Game streets 9/20/04.
MrJames
Only 14 courses compared to 19 last year? I hope there are some unlockables. I guess since you can now edit the courses that should give them some versatility and allow gamers to change it up some.
fishepa
If I can get 2 hole in ones and shoot a -20 the first day I have it I'll be very upset.
Guest Bryan
Tigerproofing sounds like it will be pretty fun. I believe the altered courses can be played online, as well.
boogieman
IS there any info on how many people you'll be able to play a round with online?
Guest Bryan
Unfortunately, I think the answer is two.
Cyberwoo
Is there any reason for me to get this game since I'm still enjoying Links 2004? I haven't played a Tiger game since I rented Tiger 2003 on Gamecube a while ago. It was nice at the time but I think Links does everything better. Links just seems a bit more realistic and challenging whereas I remember Tiger to be really easy. What are everyones thoughts on the 2? JTello
Cyberwoo, thank you for reading my mind, I look forward to responses to our questions. :green:
Graeme
I've only played TW2004 a little, but I hated it. Putting was awful, and even the regular strokes seemed weird and not very fun at all. I was aching for Links after that, and I'll be sticking with it as my golf game of choice until the next one, whenever that is.
Guest Bryan
I'm buying Tiger for the same reason I'm buying Hot Shots Fore today - I love golf games! The games will play very differently but should all be fun. Tiger is arcade golf, but entertaining nonetheless. I look forward to trying out the new courses and using the course editor to alter them for online and offline play. I think I'll also spend a good deal of time working on my gameface and building my character up to Legend status. It would be nice to see some Links regulars playing the other games - we could get some tournaments going across franchises: Round one is Greywolf in Links, Round Two is Pebble Beach in Tiger, and so on. JTello
Did you purchase TW2004 Bryan? Based on your response I'd guess,... yes?
Guest Bryan
No, but I have TW 2003 on the GameCube. I borrowed '04 from a neighbor and played through it on the Xbox.
boogieman
I bought TW2004 & had a blast with it, whenever I could steal it back from my brother. I was hoping to be able to get a 4-some going (snicker) with some friends, guess no dice there.
Ricky G
I wonder if they will build Tiger's errant swing into the game? Will he only hit a little more than half his fairways? Will he throw his putter against his bag? Will he continually say "I'm getting close"?

Bryan has the right attitude. Links is different than Tiger which is different from Hot Shots, and so on. It's probably best not to compare these games to each other, as they were designed with different philosophies in mind. And some players with more diverse tastes may enjoy all of the titles, and some may only find one or two to their liking. If only one game is to your liking, it doesn't mean the others are bad...just different. I loved Hot Shots on the PSX. And I'd like to support more of these games (even though it's hard to give up headset, foursomes, etc), but I don't have enough time to do them all justice. Though, at $20 and with Live foursomes, I might have to try Outlaw 2...
Guest Bryan
I forgot about Outlaw 2 until James mentioned it last night. Add that to the list!
MrJames
Outlaw Golf 2 is listed with a release date of 10/19.
Guest Bryan
Here is a quick developer interview at GameSpy I didn't know about the ability to move your stance around to affect the flight of the golfball. That adds another dimension that I haven't seen in a console golfer. Tigerproofing courses and then playing them against friends online sounds better every time I think about it. It would be great if you could trade those courses too. My copy is paid for.

Guest Bryan
Good! This won't be a repeat of the Madden thread.
MrJames
Since Tiger only supports two players online I guess thats all we need. Fucking EA

boogieman
I want to pick it up, but next weekend is the STar Wars release..... :bang:
Ricky G
I'm most certainly not picking up the new TW game, but am glad that Bryan is. All it means to me is that his Links game will suffer and he might not be as tough to beat in the Links tourneys.
