FLYING SE7EN
My Live account is up for renewal on 9/10/04 and I started thinking about my tag. When I signed up, I was surprised that so many of my choices were already taken, even though I thought some of them were pretty obscure. I was thinking of trying some of my choices again when I renew, who knows I might get lucky. Flying Se7en was something like my 10th choice after some nicks I've had over the years: Ash, Bones, Doc etc. and others were just movie or game references: Achiever, The One, P. Lemonjello, Ghost, Maverick etc.. I know some of the guys from the beta probably got their first choice, but what about the rest of you? Or should I try for a tag that involves a monkey? Those seem to be pretty popular.. J.
merlot
Not many people wanted a gamer tag named after a type of wine
Guest Bryan
Keep your tag. I don't want to have to remember a new one.
ColdForged
I got mine, but I was a Beta tester. I still have problems getting this nickname in some other places, Americas Army being one.
Camp
I got my first choice but then again, most of the stupid ones (like mine) were easy to get. Online screen names (such as the gamer's tag) need to evolve. I can't begin to relate how frustrating I get when signing up for an account on some random site. My first 12 choices are taken and after that I'm at a loss. I don't know how a new AOL user can sit through the process. Why is it in the real world I can know 300 people named "Dave" but online there can only be one? It's time for something new in online identifiers. Maybe grant users the ability to add an extension to their name. Dave.me, Dave.com, whatever....open the doors so Dave doesn't have to be Dave3781. Failsafe
There's always FLYING EI8HT. It's probably still up for grabs. :green: My first choice was naturally just Failsafe - taken. I only signed up in March though.
hollismb
I got mine without any problems. Same goes for all the other accounts I've created. Fortunately, I've never had a problem keeping the same user name across things.
Robot Monkey
I signed up on the day XBL launched and didn't have a problem. I did have a list of other choices in order of preference, though.
Thrillho
nope, Thrillho how was already taken. aparently some beta tester was a Milhouse/bonestorm fan also, because I got my tag about 10 am on launch day. Thus I had to go with THIRLL HO, but that just had to change to Thri11h0 due to Msofts screw up. maybe when I renew I'll have time to come up with another offbeat simpsons reference. blackcalx
I signed up ten months ago and had no problem getting my desired name. Then again, it's not exactly a popular name.
Chris F
I was a beta tester, and I got RuFfNeCk, no problem. I was actually kind of surprised that I got it. Although there are people with derivatives of my name. Ruff Neck, xRuffneckx, etc.

Just curious, why not just go with the full THRILLHOUSE? BTW, great episode! "Don't be a cup and ball hog!"
Baiter
Originally posted by merlot@Aug 26 2004, 10:00 AMNot many people wanted a gamer tag named after a type of wine I suppose the whine connotation has multiple meanings. Master Baiter was either taken or unusable, guess there's a lot of fishermen that play xbox.
Jeff W
Picked up a starter kit about a week after launch and had no problems, Lord Darkness was available and waiting. My 2nd year is coming to a close here real soon as well, I was considering a change but I don't think I'll be able to get anything new without a bunch of numers in it. [/b] Because I always loved the nuance of it better, He shouts Thrillhouse but the game in true to life form limits him to ... of all things THRILLHO!!! and it just sits there flashing THRILLHO... When I had to change it I almost went to the other game reference in that episode. Lee Carvalo!!!! "you are on the green...may I suggest putter, you chose....driver.....whack, your ball is in the parking lot" and then there's also the immortal Don Bradka!!! what a great episode. Ricky G
Hustle was my first choice and I got it. Did any of you watch the movie that was on the Xbox live starter disk? The dude playing Xbox in the movie was wearing a shirt that said HUSTLE on it. I saw the movie minutes after creating my account and nearly fell off my couch. It was weird to say the least. EnemaEms
I was a beta tester so i had no problems getting my 1st choice. I plan on keeping it still because I am not giving up the cool sig that Romier created for me. -Dean-
adamsappel
I usually don't have a problem registering my username anywhere. The only time it's ever been taken is when I've forgotten I've already registered.
Carlucci
I was glad to get Carlucci because it's my real life nickname. Unlike some, I don't mind a bit if you call my by Carlucci in the games. But then theres the asshats in the unwashed masses who pronounce it CarLucky! Carlos. Must be a regional thing, because I always pronounced it "Hey Shithead!" (I jest, I don't even know that I've played you. But it just looked ripe for the picking).
