Kain rising
Has anyone heard about this upcoming game? LEGO Star Wars It's set in the prequel-era Star Wars universe, but the initial impressions (even allowing for it being IGN ) actually sound quite fun, and the videos look good too. Apparently due for a multiplatform release when Revenge of the Sith hits theatres next year.
Camp
Different. Lucas once again breaks new licensing ground.
dogbert
It's getting a LOT of positive buzz in the British gaming press, apparently went down VERY well at a recent press event. Odd mix, but it might just work.

Romier S
In what has to the absolute most cute and fun Star Wars trailer out there, I give you the Lego Star Wars trailer: Lego Star Wars I can't get enough of using the force powers to put the Lego pieces together. :lmfao
JoeyN
I put this game on my must buy list a few weeks ago when i saw Lego Obi wan force push a Lego Droid off a cliff :rock
Robot Monkey
I'm interested in the the game. It looks clever. I understand that you can intereact with anything in the game world that is made from Legos. -j
EnemaEms
After I read the preview in Game Informer, my interest went way up. After watching the trailer.....it is now through the roof. -Dean-
Angry the Clown
That trailer is absolutely magnificent! Thus far it's looking like a real gem. I do hope it turns out to have a good deal of hours gameplay, and if it's good enough, it'd be great to see them tackle the classic trilogy in the same style. Who'd have thought the most exciting Star Wars videogame of recent memory would be this? Brilliant! Daniel
Romier S
Who'd have thought the most exciting Star Wars videogame of recent memory would be this? Brilliant! Another Star Wars game to keep in mind is the Episode III game being developed for the current consoles. I know the first thought that pops into your head is your typical third person hack and slash but the game is being developed by The Collective (the fine folks that handled the first Buffy the Vampire Slayer game!) You can read more about it here .

Romier S
Gamespot has a preview up of Lego Star Wars. You can read it here. A few words: We got to play as a ton of characters in the Episode I section of Lego Star Wars. In addition to the expected characters like Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Amidala, and Anakin, we used R2-D2, Captain Panaka, that insufferable Binks, and even the TC-14 protocol droid. All of the characters have a different special power--the Jedi can use the Force to manipulate objects, Amidala and Panaka can use a grappling hook to reach new heights, and Anakin can duck into tiny chutes to appear at new places in each level. When you finish a level, you'll unlock whichever new characters you got to play with in that level. What's more, you can use the money that you've picked up throughout the game to go back to the shop in the hub level and purchase even more characters, including some of the bad guys you've been fighting against. The beauty of Lego Star Wars is its simplicity. When you die, your only penalty is a loss of some of the money you've picked up and a three-second delay before you're right back in the action with full health. That's right--you have unlimited lives, and so does your friend, if you're in a two-player game. Therefore, one of the joys of the game is being able to stop what you're doing and just start fighting with your own characters, which can actually get pretty heated when it's two Jedi going at it. The game is still challenging thanks to the hordes of enemies that come at you and the various puzzles scattered throughout each level, but we appreciate that the game doesn't punish you for getting killed. In fact, it's to the credit of the design that Lego Star Wars is so much fun despite this fact.
jhfagan
That sounds really cool. I can't wait to try it out.
dogbert
This game rocks. Pure unadulterated fun. The mix of Star Wars & Lego works brilliantly, with the atmosphere/action of the films recreated perfectly along with a healthy dose of humour dashed in with it. It's Star Wars with Lego blocks. Controls are straightforward & simple. Little penalty for death - you just get thrown back into the action straightaway. Levels are well designed with lots to smash & find. It's very, very easy though - there's zero challenge really, I've finished the first two films in a little more than an afternoon, with only the podrace level presenting any sort of difficulty. It's a perfect rental, though I imagine it could be a heck of a lot of fun with two people.

bickle
I've been playing the Xbox version, but I think the game would greatly benefit from the higher resolution of the pc version.
Romier S
I've completed the Phantom Menace and am on Mission 3 of Revenge of the Sith and Mission 4 of Attack of the Clones. The Kamino disco room was hilarious. :lmfao Lego is definitely a charming little game and as Brian mentioned, just pure laid back fun. I'm playing the PC version here and it's running at 1280X1024 ULTRA quality (with plastic reflections and bump mapping set to "On"). It looks great and runs smoothly for me. Though it looks like AA does not work on my card. It causes a huge performance hit but doesn't do any smoothing. A minor loss but worth mentioning. Anyone else besides me replay the opening mission in Revenge of the Sith over and over again? I think it's my favorite mission in the game thus far. dogbert
Anyone else besides me replay the opening mission in Revenge of the Sith over and over again? It's a better game of Star Fox than the last couple of Star Fox games Loved the disco room too. I've played the heck out of this weekend, it's a perfect rental as I've finished the story, replayed enough missions to unlock a bunch of characters, and as I don't have the patience/skill to complete all 17 jedi challenges to get the Episode 4 mission, I'm pretty much done with it. bickle
I'm not even gonna touch the RotS stuff until I see the movie.
Romier S
Understandable Dave, but I'd just skip the opening crawl that prefaces the opening level and have at it. It's just too fun to ignore. It's a better game of Star Fox than the last couple of Star Fox games Hopefully they pull a Factor 5 on us on create a whole "Lego" pilot game ala that opening mission. I'd gladly check it out. :tu
JoeyN
Finally got to play this tonight. I picked up the PC version. Just Finished The Phantom Menace. Game is a lot of fun. Covak
you can Kill Jar Jar over and over again Hehe, that was one of my favorite things in the PC demo Anyone played it coop? I'm hoping to get together with a buddy and rent in some weekend to run through coop, if it's worth it.
Chris The Rock
Anyone played it coop? I'm hoping to get together with a buddy and rent in some weekend to run through coop, if it's worth it. I bought the game to play co-op with my wife. It's good, but not great, mainly due to a static camera and all the dumb NPC's getting in the way. (On story mode, anyway.) And it's hard not to hurt each other, too - even though there's hardly any penatly for dying, and tons of hearts lying around. I warn you, DON'T play co-op on the podracing level.
