foogledricks
When you hand them your latest copy of OXM, they want to stare at the beautiful Halo 2 cover, skip past all the rticles/previews/reviews like the DOAU preview, and jump right to the DOAU ADVERTISEMENT because that is WAY more interesting. I kid you not. He thumbed through the entire magazine in 5 minutes, only looking at the advertisements. This is what the industry is selling to. Not us. My 11 year old and I fight over first dibs on all my gamer magazines. We both read whatever articles interest us, and then we compare what we took from the articles. His memory retention is usually much better than mine, but his comprehension sometimes needs a little work. But hell, we BOTH drooled all over the Halo 2 advert. My 9 year old goes through his nintendo power in about 5 minutes. He is mostly interested in the poster. Carlos.
General Zot
I remember I used to do this as well at that age (until about 14.) I would skim the whole magazine and see what caught my eye, then return later to read the interesting looking articles. The ads are always flashier, so they catch the eye quicker than the articles. But on that second or third time through, I would be almost ignoring every ad and just going to the articles, so it's a different reading style, not neccessarily a generational thing. General Zot
I kind of do too, but it's modified now I'm usually only going to read a magazine once, so I sort of skim until an article/screenshot/ad catches my eye, then I'll read it. Isn't that how everyone reads magazines though?
