splunk
LINK My current XBOX is crapping out, and I've talked to MS a couple times, and I'm basically screwed. I'm going to end up getting another XBOX, but would love to get one of these cases for my current one. Anyone heard good/bad things about this site/these cases? Thanks. General Zot
I'd be interested to know the difference between 'regular' and 'advanced' cases on that website. They don't go into it...

Camp
Nice. Anyone have any experience re-casing an Xbox? Is it tough? Any FAQs or tutorials online?
dogbert
Relatively easy, Camp. Just need the proper torx tools, as Microsoft don't use regular screws.

blackcalx
I might actually consider doing this myself. Can somebody recommend a good place to find custom replacement jewels for the top cover?
Beer Monkey
That's pretty darn cool. Wish they had green, though. I was out in Seattle last year and was at a party at Chris Carney's house. He had a green debug XBox autographed by Bill Gates. It looked very nice. Gary P
Can somebody recommend a good place to find custom replacement jewels for the top cover? I bought one sometime last year from a mastermods.com, but that place was utter garbage and ended up ripping off a ton of people and subsequently shut the site down. I was one of the lucky few who actually got a jewel apparently. I believe this guy is someone who posts on the xbox-scene forums quite often and have heard nothing but great things about his work. I need to verify that this link is actually his site, but you can take a look at them here: EDIT: Yes this is the same guy I was thinking of. Xbox Jewels Here are a couple more xbox-scene recommended sites: More Jewels Even more jewel goodness The first two sites offer thick, engraved jewels while the third site offers thinner etched jewels (which is what I have) Both types are very nice, they just offer a different look
hollismb
There's also http://www.gameskins.com and http://www.gameconsoleskins.com One or the other offers a couple other-colored Xbox jewels.
blackcalx
Thanks for the links, guys. I wonder what it would cost to have my avatar turned into a jewel. I suppose I could buy a blank jewel and engrave it myself.
