Camp
Expectations are so high that there are bound to be some unhappy fans out there (at least initially). I'm curious how you guys would complete this sentence: "Halo 2 will be a disappointment if?"
Jordan_E
Half Life 2 comes out first. I'm a HUGE Half Life fan.
Carlucci
Halo 2 will be a disappointment if.... ...there is no full Cortana nudity! Seriously, I would be disappointed if the story in the single player campaign is lame. But I think the odds of that happening are nearly nil. Carlos. Guest Bryan
"Halo 2 will be a disappointment if?" bandwidth issues prevent large rooms from running smoothly. I read that noone will ever know if their bandwidth is doing the hosting, but what happens when 16 people with so-so connections get together? PoisonJam
...dual-wielding turns a well-balanced shooting game into Unreal. I think the recharging shield/health bar combo in the first game is balanced perfectly. The winner of a one-on-one fight is usually the guy who can aim, shoot, dodge, jump, and duck the quickest, not the guy who shoots first. But the demos I've looked at for Halo 2 seem to indicate that the absence of a secondary health bar and the addition of dual-wielding makes for much shorter firefights, with much more emphasis on seeing and shooting your opponent first. Fast deaths, fast respawns, frenetic action...like Unreal. That would be disappointing to me.
merlot
... they incorporate auto-aim similar to RS3, to cater to the casual gamer. Leave auto-aim out of it! I want this to be a pure player skills FPS like the original.
blackcalx
...I can't pull myself away from City of Heroes enough to play it. Honestly, I'm not overly excited about Halo 2 though I have purchased a preorder in order to play with you fine people.
Beer Monkey
Two things: 1) Spawn camping 2) The Halo threads at LCVG go on and on and on about spawn camping...

Angry the Clown
...if it's as genuinely repetative as the first one got toward the end. It's really rather tough for FPS games to stay on form from beginning to end, and I know for a lot of people the last few levels of Halo began to get rather tiresome. I'm sure they will have a sublime online experience, but I want a good single player experience from this too. I'm quite calm in my anticipation for Halo 2. General Zot
... I am struck by a car and killed on my way home after waiting 3 yrs for this game
Romier S
but I want a good single player experience from this too. Thats honestly the MAIN thing that I'm reallly excited about when concerning Halo 2. I'm sure the online portion will be addictive and just fun as hell but when I frantically tear open that limited edition case its because I can't wait to see how the storyline pans out and what kind of kick ass stuff Bungie has done with the single player portion. The multiplayer is simply icing to me. Now if the game had online co-op we'd be on a whole 'nother level of excitement here.
Union Carbine
I'm a little bit concerned with how they have the online games structured vis-a-vis the ranked games and the forced playlists/game types but I trust Bungie to get it right. Cyberwoo
Halo 2 will be a disappointment if online co-op isn't implimented. Wait a minute....ahhh crap. Ok except for that I really dont expect Halo 2 to disapoint me in any way. I expect bigger and better than the original in every way possible. I'm optimistic until proven otherwise I guess. Rob B
If something comes up, financially, I may not be able to buy it on the 9th Or if there are server issues like some released games as of late: Burnout 3/ESPN 2k5

Jeff W
Halo2 will be a disappointment if... It doesn't come out on the 9th as promised. The last thing those Bungie guys want is to come to work on the 10th and have me waiting for them.
Calvin
Halo 2 will be a disappointment if... People aren't playing it here at LCVG come Christmas time... We have so many "flavors of the month" type games that if this doesn't break that streak, nothing will.

Romier S
We have so many "flavors of the month" type games Thats everywhere Cal. Its what happens when you release so many online games so quickly. Doesn't leave enough time to savor the games that you have sitting on the shelf. Remember back when Mechassault and Ghost Recon were *THE* games for months? How long before they were replaced by Wolfenstien? Then Rainbow Six? (which was the last game that I can see that continues to be played even now.).
JoeyN
I switch games, but i still play all the live games i have. May not be all the time but i do hop on them all occasionally. The only game i consider a Big Time flavor of the week was Unreal 2 . think we played for 2 hours over 2 days and that was it capt
dogbert
Well, here's one disappointment for me: no bots in multiplayer modes. Something I missed in the first game, and was hoping for in the second.
Beer Monkey
I'm disappointed that there's no online co-op, but that doesn't make the game a disappointment. Ditto for bot play. Is Doom 3 still supposed to have online co-op? If there's no Live Aware, that would disappoint me a bit.
JTello
"Halo 2 will be a disappointment if?" I consider Halo 1 is more fun to play.
Romier S
Is Doom 3 still supposed to have online co-op? Yes. (though whether it needs it or lends itself to co-op is whole other story.)
