heavy liquid
IGN has an interview with Itagaki and screens from Hurricane Pack 2 up: http://xbox.ign.com/articles/548/548262p1.html?fromint=1 Sounds good... Itagaki: Hurricane Pack: Vol.1 required high skill and long play time but the Volume 2 is different. Volume 2 is a short scenario that can be completed in 30-40 minutes -- that is if you're a Master Ninja. The reason for keeping it short is to stimulate the competitive nature of the players who seek challenge. Just because it's a short scenario, don't let your guard down because we didn't take it easy on you at all. In contrary, Monsters are evolved, enemy ninjas have new weapons, and the new "Shadow" enemies will attack you with skills you've never seen before. IGN: Is there anything that isn't in Ninja Gaiden that you still wish you could add, or does Hurricane Pack Vol. 2 complete the game in your mind? Itagaki: No. Does this mean we may see a Hurricane Pack Vol. 3?!
FLYING SE7EN
Looks good. I'm glad they decided to make it a short scenario, because I don't think I could play through the whole game again so soon after finishing HP Vol. 1. Having it shorter sets it up for you to replay the scenario over and over trying to get a better score. I think thats a good idea. I'm, obviously all over this when it comes out. J. The first Hurricane Pack was a lot of fun, and certainly one hell of a challenge for veterans of the game. I can't wait to see what they come up with this time. Additionally, here's what they have to say about the final stage of the Master Ninja Tournament (from GameSpot: The finals of the tournament will be held on September 25th at the Microsoft booth during the Tokyo Game Show and will bring together the top two competitors from the three qualifying regions, North America, Europe, and Japan. In the tournament, finalists will be challenged to complete an all-new level masterminded exclusively by Gaiden developer Team Ninja. The finalist with the highest score at the end of a 10-minute time period will be christened "The One True Ninja" and have the opportunity of meeting Gaiden lead designer Tomonobu Itagaki. You know what would be cool? I'd love to get video of these guys playing the game. I love watching speed runs of various games and I would love to see how the best of the best play a game as tough as Ninja Gaiden.

Totally agree, especially since I'm not finishing the hurricane pack anytime soon (or ever). :green:

foogledricks
So who has played through Ninja Gaiden with the latest changes? It has been a while, but I thought it was time to walk through Ryu's adventure with the "changes." I really like that you can charge your sword without essense. I like the new weapon, but not as much Vigorian Flail. The cat women are a BITCH. So far, I am enjoying the replay more than anything else, and the new content does keep the play fresh, not that I wouldn't play through again any way. I am in my fourth time through at the moment. This is probably the only game of this type I will not part with. It is a treasure.
JFo
Keith; I've beaten the first Hurricane Pack, but I have yet to touch the second one. I agree that the changes made do give Ninja Gaiden a good sense of replay value. Like you, the new weapon, the Lunar, is cool, but I'm so used to fighting with the Dragon Sword and the Vigoorian Flail that it actually screws me up most of the time. Do you think that the Hurricane Pak Vol. I is any harder than the original version on Normal? I did at times, but mostly because they would throw certain enemies at you much sooner than you were used to. I don't know how far you've gotten (sounds like Chapters 4 or 5 to me), but you will definitely know what I'm talking about in a bit. In the meantime, I highly recommend you power up your Dabilahro to full strenght very soon. You can thank me later.
foogledricks
I highly recommend you power up your Dabilahro to full strenght very soon. I am on chapter 6 I think. I forget, when and where do yo uget the Dabilahro? I don't have it yet.I just got the wooden sword. Now that I think of it, the first time I played through, I never got it. The second time I remember having to look in the strategy guide. Perhaps you get it from the store owner guy? Also, are you saying this because this weapon is better or cooler with the update, or are you just saying in general I should upgrade this weapon. Because to be honest, I never liked the weapon so much. Sometimes it was useful against bigger enemies, but against anyone of any speed, it is way too slow. JFo
Keith; I say it because you'll encounter some new bad guys later on that will be much easier to kill if you have it and it's fully upgraded. And yes, I do believe you get it from the shop keeper, but you have to find a certain number of Golden Scarabs in order to get it.
