  • 2 weeks later...

Got this through from GameFly & have spent a few hours with it... So far it's a bit "meh" - some of the changes from last year's THUG are good, some are bad.

First off, the good:

- more varied terrain

- sticker slap is a great addition, great for enhancing runs.

- the new storyline's taking it in a new direction, more comedy cashing in on the whole Jackass/Bam stuff.

- vehicles are done a whole lot better than last year's sorry attempt.

- the "new" Classic mode, back to good old two minute runs with multiple goals ala SKATE, COMBO, scores, collect 5 etc.

- love the first level being a return of the very first THPS1 level.

The bad:

- when you start a level & get goals presented to you, it's really presented poorly, and you NEED to go into the menu & click each "view goal" individually to get the oldstyle presentation.

- people with goals that you need to talk to aren't clear, as you drive by it pops up a 'press b' dialog rather than having a nice clear arrow above them or something.

- to get all the goals on a level, you need to find "hidden characters".

- the new "spin on a pole" moves are pointless.

- the story's fun enough, but at times the jackass stuff just makes the game seem "juvenile" if that makes sense.

- there's much less of an importance on scoring in the main game, it's all about combos & runs to hit specific targets.

All in all, it's "more of the same" on what THUG was.
