xPieter
Just downloaded the Village. Here is the description: The Village is a multiplayer map set in an outdoor daytime enviornment. It has plenty of open and close quarter areas with some good sniping nests. 645 Blocks. Will post my thoughts after a few rounds of play... Pieter Edit: Thought I'd add that it's free! Failsafe
That was quick - less than two months! I'll be downloading tonight. Wonder if they're still going to port over the maps from the original...
MrJames
So we may be playing this instead of Battlefront tonight?

xPieter
I like the map. It's fairly small with creaky wooden interiors facing an open market place bathed in daylight. There is no true 1st or 2nd floor, but there are a couple of raised and lowered locations for variety. LimeyYankee and I played some sharpshooter, but were disappointed to find it is not a new terrorist hunt or mission level. Pieter
Chris F
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3136120 Assault Pack #1 - Ready to go! Looks like it's up and ready to download. Looks like there's a required autoupdate as well. Killhouse Winterlodge Petroleum Office2 (5585 blocks) Don't forget folks, this is a Premium Purchase ($4.99), and totally worth it IMO, considering the love we've gotten from UBISoft over the past 3 years. *EDIT* The maps are very nice indeed. Office2 is a remake of the Office level for RS3. The rest seem large, and look great for some close quarters combat.
Failsafe
Bryan, Allen and myself were just discussing DLC today and wondered when more RS3 maps would be available.

DataTox
Going to grab it tonight myself. Haven't played Black Arrow in a while (damn CoH), but this may be the push I need to get back on. That is at least until next Tuesday.
merlot
Hmmmm, is it worth spending $5 for one or two nights of play with Halo2 coming out next week?

Well, IMO I think Halo 2 is going to get burned out VERY quickly in terms of online play. So I'll be taking my time with multiplayer and NOT playing every night. I'll be throwing other games into the mix so that it doesn't lose its luster that quickly.

[/b] I don't think it's going to be a "Flavor of the Week" per se, but I think everyone and their mother is going to be playing it, each and every night, and that there will be a burn out of it within a month for a lot of players. I couple that with the slower pace of Halo multiplayer, and a minimal amount of multiplayer levels. I only hope there will be DLC soon after its release. This is all just my opinion of course, but then again, I'm looking forward to single player more than multiplayer. Back on topic though, I don't think 5$ is too much to ask for 4 more maps in RS3:BA. I think at some point we'll all come back to RS3 as a nice change of pace from Halo 2. I know I wish we could get back into some older games, since we enjoyed them so much previously. matt
I'll buy it. $1.25 a map isn't all that steep. Plus I tend to agree with Chris on Halo just because of the lack of co-op. I'll be playing it quite a bit I'm sure, but I don't want to get burned out myself. New maps for RS3:BA and DOA:U are going to be nice distraction for me. 8)

DataTox
I, too, agree with Chris. I pretty much plan on Halo 2 every night for the first week or so. I then, however, want to throw a few more games in to the mix just to keep my personal burnout level to a minimum. RS3 and my newly acquired Chronicles of Riddick (for a single-player break) will be just what I need to ensure many, many months of happy Halo gaming. FLYING SE7EN
With so many games coming out over the next few months, something's got to give. People will have to take a break from Halo for a bit. I agree with the others as I see myself playing Halo non-stop for the first week or two, then mixing it up for the rest of the time. J. merlot
When RS3 first came out, there were people playing for MONTHS, you really all thinking you'll need a break after a week of Halo2? Anytime a new map has come out for RS3/RS3:BA, people played it again for a night or two then it died off quickly.

Anytime a new map has come out for RS3/RS3:BA, people played it again for a night or two then it died off quickly. The trick was with RS3 that we didn't play EVERY night, unlike what's going to happen with Halo 2. Burn out factor is going to be VERY high with this game IMO. Everyone will be playing, every night, then the 9-10 levels included will get real old, real fast. People will hate certain gametypes, so only a few will get played. WHich is why I hope there's a steady influx of DLC for the game. I for one don't plan on getting burned out by the game, so I won't be playing every night. I prefer single player & co-op for Halo anyways.
merlot
I plan to play every night and don't think I'll get burned out on it and I know my freinds won't either. Hell, we went on a long stint playing CS and never got bored with it. Anyway, I think I derailed this thread long enough. With that said it's (RS6 DLC) only $5, so I might be on tonight
DataTox
Grabbed the DLC at lunch today and puttered around in the "Killzone" map. Reminds me a lot of the "Training" map from RS3. Didn't get a chance to check out the others. See you all tonight.
LimeyYankee
PIE 314 and myself had a go around the maps this afternoon and had great fun with the "Killhouse" map. It was just the 2 of us and we were having a blast(pun intended) with it. It should be insane with a full room on there esp. with the close quarters. The Saudi map is very big and is more suited for a full room. The office is very good too, it is pretty much the same level as the Crespo Foundation in the skyscraper. Lots of corridors and offices to hide in :green: Well worth the $5 for me :tu: Matt

It's been a while since I have been in that large of a room with the LCVGers and it reminded me why I prefer that. :tu: Not sure which of the new maps is my favorite yet, but we gave them all a pretty good workout last night.
