Romier S
Article posted here: http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/n..._dangerfield_dc Dangerfield suffered a stroke following the August surgery and "developed infectious and abdominal complications from which he did not recover," Sasaki said. During the past week, the entertainer emerged from a coma he had slipped into sometime after the operation, according to his wife, Joan. "When Rodney emerged, he kissed me, squeezed my hand, and smiled for the doctors," Joan Dangerfield said in a statement. R.I.P Rodney, you get much respect. Robot Monkey
Here's a great Fresh Air interview with Rodney that is very recent: http://freshair.npr.org/day_fa.jhtml?displ...Date=07/06/2004 My two takeaways from the interview is that 1) he had a tough childhood and 2) he helped a lot of people in the business. A nice guy and a great comedic actor. -j
Kain rising
Sad indeed. It's somewhat disturbing how fuzzy my memory of the event is, but I actually saw him in person back in '91, I think it was, for a/the(?) premier of Rover Dangerfield. For some reason it was held in a historic theater in a town about half an hour from where I lived, and I ended up there. Can't really remember much, but I know he was there. Angry the Clown
Very sad news. I was always very fond of him. He had a great and memoerable voice that added so much to his character. Daniel
