Romier S
Here is the report: http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2004/Oct/1081365.htm CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 11, 2004--Midway Games Inc. (NYSE:MWY) announced today that it has acquired Austin, Texas-based Inevitable Entertainment Inc., the development studio working on Midway's upcoming new videogame, AREA 51. Midway acquired privately-held Inevitable in an all-stock transaction for 218,421 Midway common shares. The acquisition accelerates Midway's previously announced plans to open an Austin studio and increases the Company's internal development resources. I didn't come away terribly impressed with the Area 51 demo but I may give it a second look when it's released. Didn't they recently acquire Surreal as well? Jeff W
They must think they've got something really special in Area 51, shades of Microsoft snapping up Bungie.
dogbert
They must think they've got something really special in Area 51, shades of Microsoft snapping up Bungie. Or more likely, they've found a developer who seems capable of bringing in a project on time & on budget (or thereabouts).

Big Daddy Bling Bling
I thought the Area 51 demo was pretty decent. The textures on the walls are much better than other PS2 FPS if you look at them closely. It seemed pretty good considering it's on a system that just hasn't been able to produce a top tier FPS and I think I might be compelled to buy Area 51 over Killzone if reviews say that the former has a good story.
