rustyjaw
I was surprised to see this article at Cnet. I know a lot of people were expecting Intel to drive hi-def TV costs down with their chip-making expertise and volume. The death of the liquid crystal on silicon, or LCOS, project will no doubt buoy rivals such as Texas Instruments, which makes a competing chip, called the Digital Light Processor, for companies such as Samsung. dogbert
It's been doomed for a while - it turned out that Intel's "revolutionary" tech to cut costs didn't actually reduce costs anywhere near as much as they needed for production line manufacturing, I believe.
