Romier S
Here is the latest on Nintendos new holiday bundle: Nintendo today announced the details of its holiday GameCube bundle. Packaged along with the console will be Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, originally released last November. The package will cost $99.99 and be available starting on November 14. Source: http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/10/25/news_6111281.html The price is definitely good and the included game is decent (much more of a Mario Kart 64 fan personally) however I kind of liked the Metroid Prime pack bit more. Either way, anyone looking into buying a GC should get themselves a nice package.
JFo
I'm really glad they're doing this bundle. I've been wanting to buy a GameCube for my sister's kids for Christmas, and the two of them absolutely love Mario Kart. I just didn't want to spend $150 on the system and the game seperately. Now, it looks as if I can actually go through with it, at a reasonable price to boot.
GreenMonkey
Now that's a good bundle. Time for you GC holdouts to pick one up. Now where's Microsoft's? Time for Microsoft to actually have a good bundle so I can finally get a damn Xbox. That lame Top Spin bundle doesn't count!
Camp
Best bundle ever!
Mark E
It's aight. Of the two, I'd get the MP bundle. Especially for those not going multiplayer. Obviously DD has it in the multiplayer department over MP .
The Daisy
Yep. I'd tend to agree with Mark. If you haven't picked up a Gamecube yet, I would recommend the Metroid Prime bundle over the Mario Kart bundle, but either way you win. GreenMonkey
I bet most folks on the forum that need a GC don't frequent the GC forum. Perhaps this should be more useful in the general forum?
Mark E
Actually if you just said 'most folks on the forum don't frequent the GC forum' you would also be right :green:

Besides, this area gets so little traffic anyway that I'm not going to give up a thread like this to the General area. Call me a greedy bastard, but I have to give people a reason to at least stop by here once in a while. Anyway, this post should do nicely in bumping this topic up so that it appears on the main page. Perhaps that will grab the attention of some of you out there.

Parrish
These are already hitting the store shelves - I saw one at the local Target tonight. Pretty tempted to pick one up (as I was with the MP bundle, but that extra controller is a nice extra). Then I look at my shelf of unfinished Xbox/PS2 games... The Daisy
The extra controller is a great deal. Seriously, if you don't have a Gamecube by now, there is no excuse not to pick one up with this deal. You could trade the game back in at a store and get probably 10 to 15 to put towards another if it's not your cup of tea. Glen
JFo
Wait a minute. Are you guys saying that you also get a second controller with the Mario Kart bundle? If so, I'm heading out the store tomorrow to buy it for my niece and nephew. That's one hell of a deal!
Parrish
Yup, it has a free 2nd controller. But I wouldn't rush out without calling first - they aren't 'officially' available until Nov.14th, so not all places may have them in stock yet. JFo
I ran out to Target today and picked up this bundle. It's a good thing I went when I did because it sounds as if this thing is selling pretty fast. I got mine at about 4:15 this afternoon, and the guy behind the counter said that this was the fourth one he had sold since 3:30. Nintendo may have a winning combo on their hands. It will be interesting to see if this helps spike sales of the Cube, and if so, how much will it help. At any rate, I know my sister's kids are going to love this gift. I can't wait to see their faces when they open it. :green:
JoeyN
Nintendo has a great seller on there hands. saw a few people at BB pick them up. The box really stands out on the shelves and on display as well apt
The Daisy
They'd do very well to see how sales of this bundle are working. It would be great to see someone do this at launch again. Glen
JoeyN
Yeah it would be nice to see a system launch with a game again capt
Mark E
Yep, I'm with you guys, box those puppies. Man, remember when you'd get Super Mario Bros. AND Duck Hunt? Those were the days. Glad the Kart bundle is doing well though, I know at least one friend of mine who's getting it thanks to my salesmanship .
JoeyN
Yep when i get my NES bundle it was the power pad bundle with Mario, Duck Hunt and the Powerpad game. I miss the light gun :-) capt
The Daisy
I liked how with the NES and SNES systems you got... TWO... controllers. Glen
JoeyN
Yep two controllers was the best. Expecially since it was my brother and I who used to play everything together. capt

splunk
Haha, pretty bad for me to not know that since I work at GameStop, but I've yet to sell one! Sold more of the Metroid bundles.
