Covak
...only different. http://www.flatoutgame.com/ http://www.flatouthq.com/ (I had to go here to grab the movies) I'd never heard of this game before today. Looks like it could be a lot of fun, especially all the crazy multiplayer modes. The press seems to love it, but it's already being called a sleeper hit. Considering it comes out Nov. 5th, I'm not sure I'm even gonna buy it, and it looks like something I'd love :? Then again, it does have 4-player split-screen... so tempting. I may just wait and see how people like it... if I don't forget about it after Halo 2 and Metroid Prime 2 and all the other good stuff coming. iainl
Its got a very respectable 7 in Edge this month, but there's just too much else out for me to get to it in a hurry. Basically, they say that its hilariously good fun, but after a while they got annoyed with just how random it all is; the mechanic is all about scattering stuff all over the track, and hoping the CPU cars hit it more than you do on your next lap. JTello
Looks like fun! I like the part of the video that seemd to be showing a mini game. The part where the car goes off a ramp and the guy driveing gets thrown out of the car toward the big clown. It seems as though the point is to get the driver thrown through the holes in the clown, sort of like in a carnival game where you have to throw balls through holes. The game doesn't look terribly deep, but it looks like a great multiplayer game.
heavy liquid
I wish this game was also coming out in the US. Hopefully it will, now that it's gone gold!
Camp
Good to see this one still exists...I was operating under the mistaken impression that Flatout was released as Test Drive: Eve of Destruction in the US. I'm glad that's not the case as Test Drive isn't so hot.
dogbert
I'm glad that's not the case as Test Drive isn't so hot. I wouldn't say it's a bad game though - I've had a lot of fun with Eve of Destruction, particularly in the arcade mode though the career mode plays well once you've got a much better car. I think it's not as bad as some reviews have said. It looks dull & muddy in screenshots, but that's the mood it's going for

Covak
Basically, they say that its hilariously good fun, but after a while they got annoyed with just how random it all is; the mechanic is all about scattering stuff all over the track, and hoping the CPU cars hit it more than you do on your next lap. I was wondering just how much depth there'd be to the single-player. But after seeing some videos (on IGN) of the demolition bowl, I'm pretty much sold. I just have a weak spot for something like that Especially if you can do 4-player split-screen and play it on Live. But no North American release planned yet? I missed that little detail... I'm sure it'll come eventually, though, and probably sooner rather than later.
Cyberwoo
There looks like there is some fun to be had in that game but I just dont see myself playing something like that with all the games that will be out soon. Wasted $ IMO. I dont even play some of the good games I have now (ie: Burnout 3). Oh and one thing I noticed is...where the heck are the players being ejected from the cars? In every screenshot/movie I saw there was no hole in the window.
