Calvin
What the topic says. I have gone to midnight sales - the biggest one so far being the Dreamcast launch. Was well worth it,I was out of work at the time,so me & my family ended up playing games well into the next day. And yes,I'm one of those people who will be getting Halo 2 at midnight

iainl
No way - I'd rather sleep. I've turned up nice and early in the morning, however, so I can then spend the rest of the day playing - my GBA was in my hands by 8am.
Carlucci
Halo 2 will be the 1st time I go to a midnight videogame sale. I expect to see lots of parents there on behalf of or with their kids. I recall sending my wife to Walmart to try to get a PS2 on launch day, but we came up short that night, 16th in line when they only had 15 to sell. I don't recall that being at midnight though. Was there a pre-determined selling time during the day? I have camped out overnight for Astros playoff tickets (not this year, in 1986) and concert tickets before. My wife wakes up at 4:00 a.m. on the day after Thanksgiving every year, to go for the early bird Christmas shopping specials. Carlos. Kain rising
I'll see you in line for Halo 2! I've gone to a few midnight releases for CDs, but never one for a videogame.
xPieter
I saw a midnight screening of Episode I, bought Episode II and FotR:EE DVDs at midnight, but Halo 2 is my first potential midnight game. Pieter
Jeff W
Never done the midnight release thing before but I will be doing it for Halo 2, it would just eat me all night knowing the game was on sale and I was lying in bed.

Cyberwoo
I can think of a few other things I'd rather be doing at midnight. Sstanding in line with a bunch of gamers waiting for a game to be released is NOT one of them.
heavy liquid
Halo 2 will be the first time for me, too. I'm not looking forward to the next day at work...
Angry the Clown
I did so for the UK Dreamcast launch, but have not been convinced that anything else would be worth doing the same for, not because my Dreamcast experience was bad, far from it, but I just don't see anything game related getting me THAT excited again. I'd really have to consider what it is that I would be buying. Besides, we're rather reserved in the UK about going to midnight movie showins and linin up outside stores to buy something as it is. cane corso
Grabbing mine at midnight. I grabbed a Xbox and midnight, but that's been about it.
Josh
I'll actually be there at a Gamestop in Sheridan Square, NYC. Should be interesting, and I'll be grabbing some photos for EGM.
Cyberwoo
I changed my mind. I'm doing the midnight thing more out of curiousity then getting the game early. I really need to know what type of people and just how many show up to something like this. I called my local Gamestop and they said the next door resteraunt will be open at 10pm and have machines with Halo (I think he meant Halo 2) running so people dont have to wait outside. Me I just plan on showing up about 11:30pm, getting in line and listening to some mp3s while I wait for my copy. Oh and I'll definately take my camera... Jordan_E
I'm not against something like this, but the fact is I don't think I can stay up that late! Getting up @ 5AM, midnight seems a LONG ways away. And there's always something cool about being with a group of people interested in something you like. Darius
I stood in line for 2 hours last night waiting for halo 2. I will never do that at an EB again. It was a complete waste of time and the disorganization was amazing. They only had 2 registers but they didn't start ring people up until 12. They had a line but they were handing out these stupid paper things that actually had the number on it for the order you would get the game. Needless to say I stood in line for 20 minutes before someone asked me if I had one. Then I had to go to the front of the crowd where you couldn't even see into when you walked in and get one. If I ever do a midnight thing again it will be from a smaller store. My friend went to a game crazy and they rang everyone up when they got there and handed out coupons. Then when 12 came they handed out the games in exchange for the coupons. Needless to say he was home by 12:30 playing. A feat I wouldn't accomplish for another 2 hours.
