Mark E
Technically this is a PS2 thing, but technically it's not, so feel free to appropriately alter the permanent position of this particular post. Was reading the mailbag on IGN Cube this morning and apparently the rumor coming out of Ubi Soft is that PoP:SoT will come with a bonus disc containing, yes, the original Prince of Persia game. Which would sell me the damn game right there, I might add, since PoP is one of the best 2D action/puzzle games ever. Which is all well and good, except I guess the other part of the rumor is that the bonus disc is going to be kept to the PS2 version, and not the Cube one (the X-Box manages to not get mentioned). If this turns out to be true I'm going to be rather unimpressed with Ubi Soft, I have to say. I'm not really ranting, it just seems a bit off for a bonus like that to only come with one console. And it IS a touch disappointing, as I'm a big fan of the 2D games. Have there been any recent multi-platform titles that have done similar? Giving a bonus to one system in favor of the others? (SC2 doesn't count, it throws a bone to all systems )
Camp
Bummer. If they're going to do it at all they should do it right and make it happen across all platforms.

Of course, that's just some interview thing and no big deal, IMO. Treating an entire game like an extra, especially a classic like Prince of Persia, is pretty lame. Makes me glad I have the original and the first sequel for my PC.
Zathras
Hmmmm. Well its too soon to gripe too much since we don't know all the facts yet, but that would definately make me pick up the PS2 version. Stuff like this reminds me why I've got all three consoles. If you look at it actually there are a lot of titles with exclusive levels/features just on one system (IE off the top of my head - Jedi Starfighter on Xbox had a Coursecant level, there are Gamecube games with special GBA connectivity which in some case unlocks certain levels, SSX Tricky has DTS only on PS2). While it does suck if you don't have the luxury of picking which system you buy it for - I do think it is well within a developers rights since there has to be some benefit from them doing it that way. They aren't in business solely for the love of the game. Reguardless I was a little hesititant on this one but if it comes with the first I am THERE. The original PoP was a thing of beauty with gameplay in spades.
adamsappel
Seems little different from the exclusive characters in SCII (please, don't tell me that HeyHaChewy is equivalent to Spawn or Link, PS2 got the shaft on that one) or extra level in Splinter Cell for PS2. Just something extra to sell units. Does the Xbox version have Live or d/l content?
