Jason Merrick
Check out some of these collections! http://www.videogamearchive.com/gameroom/index.htm
General Zot
That is amazing, total devotion. When the money I had invented in my gameroom approached the level of a new car, I think my wife would just flip. I wish one of these guys lived never door
JTello
-Holy crap! I'm amazed! It kinda makes me ill, especially since most of those guys are playing those systems on the crappiest TV's! What is with that? Sell a few hundred games and buy a REAL freaking TV!
JFo
I wonder if that's what Romier's house looks like.

Romier S
I wonder if that's what Romier's house looks like. Nope, no dedicated game room as of yet. I have a a big Gaming wall with all the current games and most played stuff (ie choice NES/SNES/Genesis/Atari stuff) but a majority of my old schol stuff is in boxes in the closet. They only get pulled out every once in awhile. As Kelley said, my wife would kill me if I turned the second bedroom into gaming utopia. My stuff is in the same state as Romiers, just current gen and my saturns pulled out.
Romier S
There is a reason this man has that gaming wall . He does however have the Maracas and you can see the thicker than normal Nights box in the Saturn row of games, so he does get some props. Calvin
I guarantee you none of those guys are married. I know for a fact that Joe Santuilli, who publishes the classic fanzine Digital Press ( a great read for anyone into classic gaming,BTW) is happily married. While I don't have a gaming room just yet - I do own many classic systems & games & own somewhere in the area of 700 games - everything from classic stuff to Soul Calibur II. There are some couples who are just into gaming just as much as Auntie Muffin & I. :green:

Zathras
I don't think its really fair to assume that most aren't married - there are many a wife that just shrugs it off I'm sure. Some people collect doorknobs. Hey its a better hobby than many things (and probably a pretty liquid collectable what with ebay these days). I've got a slightly larger than average video game collection I would say (hmmm maybe we should take a poll to see what average is), but I've spent a lot more time/effort/money on HT. I'm pretty sure if I flip-flopped my spending on those two hobbies my "office" would look like one of those rooms and my wife would probably be an equal level of annoyed but accepting. Romier S
I don't think its really fair to assume that most aren't married Of course its not fair Zathras. We're being irreverant on purpose Just having a bit of fun with it. to be truthful we're all just jealous. :lmfao:
ant1
they must be married or not care to marry, because any woman i know came over and saw a wall like that would just as quickly turn around and run. and to be honest i'd be a little spooked out myself.
kelley
the thing that i'm most envious about is how neat most of their collections are
JohnE
If I had kept every game I had bought over the last 20 years I don't think I could compete with most of those. Truly amazing collections.
Camp
Look how perfect the console boxes are on the top shelf. Damn...they look brand new.
AndyVX
You'd think with all the money these people are spending on videogames, they could put some aside for a decent digital camera to take pictures of their collections. Man, almost all those pics are terrible quality!
Starhawk
It kinda makes me ill, especially since most of those guys are playing those systems on the crappiest TV's! What is with that? Sell a few hundred games and buy a REAL freaking TV! I was thinking the same. Hopefully these are game "storage" rooms and they play on another monitor. But still, why would they keep those old TVs in there? Even the nerdy "peace" guy has a Wega, so why in the hell is there an POS TV on top of the game rack? Edit: Yeah I think that guy is a total dick. It looks like he doesnt even have his Gamecube hooked up!

Anyway I've very jealous of most of their setups (the organized looking ones that is). I really love seeing the old boxes. I've still got my Sega Master System box in the attic - the system is long dead and gone but the box remains. Just wish I had a place to display them. Thats it I need a basement - I had better go buy a shovel.

Even the nerdy "peace" guy has a Wega, so why in the hell is there an POS TV on top of the game rack? RGB? So he can have two games running at once when friends are over? There's some good guys on the Digitpress forums... Some incredibly "hardcore" collectors obviously where it's less about the games & more about addiction - they could be collecting stamps for all it matters at the end of the day. But there's some genuinely nice guys there too. And I once won a pokemon pocket watch thingy from them, so they're definitely alright in my book I should dig up the links to the pics of the collections that a couple of friends in the UK have - major Sega fans in every sense of the word. kelley
please do Brian, I love to see others collections. BTW - I got a new piece of my collection coming in! Can't wait.
iainl
Peace guy obviously does have friends, though. At least, I hope he has just cause to have not only two pairs of maracas, but (at my count) SIX Hori sticks up there on the shelf. Why does any man need that many, even with copious friends? Over lunch I got a big box in the mail with an Odyssey 2 with a bunch of classic games (mmmmmm Pick Axe Pete and KC Munchkin will keep me busy this weekend) That was my first real gaming system (then I graduated to a Colecovision Adam woo woo).
