Romier S
As a long time comic book fan and a freaking complete Sin City fanboy let me just say.... :rock :rock :drool :drool Bruce Willis as Hartigan? Alba as little Nancy in "That Yellow Bastard"? Mickey Rourke as Marv, Benicio Del Toro, Elijah Wood.......My freaking mind is racing like I don't know what right now. Co-directed by the man himself Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez, I now have my most anticipated movie of 2005. Check the trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/sin_city.html
Cyberwoo
You didn't even mention the #1 reason to go see this movie: Jessica Alba   She is such a hottie. Anyway that clip has me intruiged. I know nothing of the comic or anything about the story but it sure looks interesting. Edit: Oops my bad you did mentio Alba. Good man. scobeto
I've never read the comic, but I'd pay the price of admission just to see Alba pole dance for a scene or two
Robot Monkey
Great Scott, I thought del Toro really hit Mignola's high contrast style in Hellboy and now I see this Rodriguez fella is hitting the marks big time in Sin City! I only read one of the trades and liked it. I'll be interested to see how the film comes out. Rourke seems like inspired casting, doesn't he? Now we just need a Jinx movie... -j
JoeyN
Saw the trailer over the weekend. Alba is a godess :green: capt
Rob B
Wow Bruce looks like bad ass again haven't really scene that since his Die Hard days. If thats the way the movies going to filmed style wise I love it. It's got that comicy omaush<sp?> to Ah-Ha's "Take on me video" Which I still find to be really fucking cool
kelley
hot damn, now thats a comic book movie.
Romier S
I only read one of the trades and liked it. Which one Jay? If anyone wants to give Sin City a shot I highly recommend "That Yellow Bastard". It is my favorite Sin City book and those wanting to see Bruce Willis play a bad ass character is going to love it (the ending to the story is also a serious knockout.) My only concern is Willis' age. Hartigan in the book is past the age of 60 while Willis is substantially younger looking. In the end though, that's just me being nitpicky. He (along with Rourke) are both inspired bits of casting IMHO. CANNOT.WAIT.FOR.THIS! If thats the way the movies going to filmed style wise I love it. It follows the style of the comic book to an complete T. Whooter
Interesting side note: Robert Rodriguez quit the Director's Guild over this film, because they wouldn't allow him to give co-directing credit to Frank Miller...
Romier S
just to see Alba pole dance for a scene or two The reveal of that (her being a stripper) in the book is so damn great that I almost wished they hadn't shown it in the trailer. When Hartigan first meets Nancy in the book she is an 11 year old girl. Of course having Alba up there is going to help sell tickets so I understand why they decided to go ahead and throw it in. Derrik Draven
Never heard of "Sin City". What's the storyline? From a style point of view, it kinda looks like comic book meets film noir. Kinda cool. Is it kinda like a Mickey Spilane, detective-ish, plotline? I never got it back and can't remember the title, although it might be Yellow Bastard.

Mickey Spillane cranked up to 11, if you can picture that It's very hard-boiled yet so much so that it becomes tongue-in-cheek. All of the dialogue and imagery in the trailer are DIRECTLY from the comics. The only thing missing is a big "BLAM" in the background when people shoot their guns. It doesn't have a single storyline as every book in the series begins a new plot, although characters and locations will overlap, much like Pulp Fiction. Romier S
By the way, for anyone that really enjoyed the music during the trailer I was able to track down the artist and track name. Kain rising
Wow - I have never read any of the graphic novels but just watched the trailer and the ComicCon trailer...:drool The style is fantastic. Definitely putting this one on my must-see list. May have to try and find some of the books too.
heavy liquid
Man this movie looks great. So many good people in it, too. I can't decide whether or not I want to go back and read some of the graphic novels... I'm thinking I might wait until after the movie, so I can see the movie "fresh".
