Sounds like a plan. I'll have to set the actual file to d/l tonight because it's rather bloody big and last time it got halfway through before my net connection crapped out.

The Chaos Theory one is only available to paying FilePlanet users though, no? Or did I read that wrong?

If it's a beta for people who aren't FilePlanet members,

Well, you have to have a FilePlanet login, but you don't have to be a paying customer. I just have a login for downloading purposes and you are allowed to ask for a CD key. Then you just have to d/l the client off FilePlanet. :tu

Ah. Very cool then. When I get home tonight I'll download it and give it a try. I'm looking forward to checking it out. The screens look very good indeed.

Gah, something is fubar with FilePlanet for me.

For some reason the little download window is constantly crapping out and not responding in IE. Anybody else have this problem? I've tried three times this weekend to get the game downloaded and it hasn't worked once.

PM sent Mark. The first one I sent has an incorrect link so disregard it. The second one has the correct link and is uploading at the moment. Enjoy. :tu

If anyone else is having serious problems with Fileplanet I can supply you the link as well but I'll have to limit it to 3 folks at the most right now.

Hmm, thanks for the impressions Ryan.

I got the file from Romier (thanks!) and can install whenever. Tonight I have a monster research protocol to rewrite, so anybody feel up to some action tomorrow night, say 10-ish EST? I'm fine with whenever, provided it isn't TOO late ;).

What are the multiplayer options like in terms of max # of players, etc etc?

I'd be glad to hook up with some of you for some games tomarrow night. I played some last night and quit because some idiot kept killing the VIP on purpose. The goal for the SWAT guys is to escort the VIP to the roof of a 5 or 6 story building all the while fending off a team of terrorists who's goal is to capture the VIP and hold him captive for 2 minutes. If the SWAT guys accidently kill the VIP then the terrorists win and vise versa. Well some idiot thought he was being funny by joining the SWAT side and purposely killing the VIP at the start of every round. Anyway the game seemed decent enough to give another shot. I'm not sure about a couple things but I'd like to at least play with some people that aren't asshats to make a better judgement of the game. :) Let me know if you guys plan on playing tomarrow. I can get 1 more guy to play as well if need be. It can hold up to 16 players btw (ala Rainbow Six).

I've been playing off and on for the past few days. I have to agree that the game plays a tad too slow for my tastes. Once you get the hang of the inventory and what not, the "clunkiness" mentioned starts to go away. I'd love to hop on a good server with you guys. Maybe Wednesday or Thursday night? I can start a thread up in the Online Gaming area and we can coordinate. I'll have to get you guys the Teamspeak info too so we can chat. :tu

Anyone get to play the single player demo of SWAT4? The multiplayer demo was decent but nothing that made me want to run right out and buy the game. The single player though is freaking fantastic! The squad commands are awesome and plentiful. I like the more personal tone the game has as opposed to your run of the mill PC squad shooter. These are smaller scal skirmishes but it's neat to see your squad yelling at a criminal to put his gun down. The criminal doesn't always comply so there is a bit of tension in just witnessing what will happen. The briefing sessions before you actually get in-game are very authentic (you can even listen to the 911 calls.). There are still AI pathing problems with your squadmates but overall, I think I've decided to pick this up. Runs really nicely on my comp too.
