Matrix Online?

Is this game on anyone elses radar? I'm interested in it as my first MMORPG mostly cause I'm a big Matrix Fan. If it is unlikely to take off big with the LCVG community. I will probably elect to go with COH or WOW.

I was (still am) in the beta. Colour me completely unimpressed. I played for about a week, and it just wasn't a good game IMO. the city seemed lifelss as opposed to City of Heroes, I disliked the combat and skill system, and it felt very lackluster. I know of a few other still playing the beta, and they're opinions are similar to mine.

 

I highly doubt this will succeed as an MMORPG, even with the Matrix name attached to it.

Unfortunate. It's probably well beyond the phase of any significant improvements? Will CoH be alive and kicking for awhile within the LCVG community? I'm leaning towards picking up that one. Any other MMORPG's coming out that are grabbing anyones attention?

The buzz with The Matrix Online is really not that good. And deservedly so. It was just very unimpressive. I think all the ideas are there for a great MMORPG, but in execution it was very poor. But I have not played it in a few months, so perhaps it has improved. But one look at many messageboards from beta testers, and it doesn't seem like they've made any improvements.

 

For a first time MMORPG player, I'd heartily recommend either City of Heroes or World of Warcraft. Check out the threads for each game to get a better idea of which might be suited for you.
