Has anyone ever purchased anything from there before?

 

I'm looking to pick up a few DVD's and it looks to be the cheapest place to buy them once you get past $25 and get free shipping.

I haven't bought from them online, but I have made purchases at one of their stores. They tend to be competitively priced and have a good selection.

 

If speedy shipping isn't a major factor, you should look up http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com. They are another place that tends to have low prices and shipping is free (though a bit slow).

I usually hit up DVD Price Search to see what the best deal is on a combination of DVD's I'll be buying. You can make a "compare" cart that will give a price matrix of the various stores, and the best overall deal including shipping. It also has user reviews of each store (the ones there don't seem all too great for DVD Planet), although I've not had any issues ordering from just whichever random one happens to have the best price.

I've purchased from DVDPlanet many times over the last fews years and have had no problems. The same company that owns Deep Discount DVD purchased DVDPlanet about a year ago or so, and many people reported problems such as missing shipments, being double billed for items, and poor customer service. That appears to have been a temporary transitional problem, for such complaints have subsided in recent months.
