GreenMonkey
Yo, What is your BFME name? I will keep an eye out for you online. I have been playing a lot of BFME since it came out. PS - I suggest BFME.org forums for strategy tips. My name is GreenMonkey (rank 600 or so 1v1 ladder)

foogledricks
I got an itch to play BFME2 on the PC. I thought I'd get it from Steam for $10 or something like that. No dice. I can't seem to find it on Steam or in EA's store. Only for $100 on eBay and the like. WTF? I want to give them my money and they don't want it. So they won't get it. I'll use other means. FU EA. dogbert
EA's licence for the Middle Earth properties lapsed, I believe.
JoeyN
Yep EA doesn't have the LOTR license anymore. Believe WB has the movie and book license now, before they were split.
foogledricks
That sucks. That's how it works? I thought you get the license for a particular product. You get it for a timespan, then when its up, all of your products can't be sold anymore? That's terrible.
JoeyN
Yep once the license ends, they are done making new discs/Downloads/DLC

You get it for a timespan, then when its up, all of your products can't be sold anymore? That's terrible. Depends on the contract. Likely deal was EA couldn't print any more/continue to distribute it digitally etc. It's also likely the reason that Pandemic rushed out that LOTR Conquest game or whatever it was called... Romier S
We're talking about the old PC rts, no? Amazon has it for 24 new. Used it's only 8 bucks. http://www.amazon.com/Lord-Rings-Battle-Middle-Earth-Pc/dp/B00026ENLE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1315618853&sr=8-3 http://www.amazon.com/Lord-Rings-Battle-Middle-Earth-DVD-ROM-Pc/dp/B0002VXW2K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1315618853&sr=8-1 Part II isn't much more expensive. The anthology with all of the games is up for $65. I'm glad I picked it up when it was 15 but there are still fairly cheap ways to get the game. foogledricks
Thanks Romier. I was looking for Part II actually. Though I am not desperate for it. I figured it would be a couple of bucks at this point and was mad that it was not. Even more mad that I couldn't buy it digitally off of steam. I am so over discs at this point. . EnemaEms
I bought the Anthology from Best Buy awhile back for $20. Might be worth checking there, Keith. They may still actually have it in stock. -Dean-
foogledricks
Thanks for the advice guys. My torrent attempts ended badly. Seriously, I would much rather pay $15 on Steam to conveniently download shit then ever torrent it. I will try Bestbuy Dean. Or maybe I should just wait for Stronghold 3. I'm itching for some RTS.
