I think this could be a good season. I definitely liked the twists in the first show, although I think they could have let all 20 live together a little longer. But the 'instant vote' was a pretty brutal surprise.

 

Even though she was a freak, I think the show would have been a touch more interesting if they had kept the crazy singing lady at least a little longer.

 

I was pretty shocked that the gay dude didn't pick Angie to be on his team. The only reason I can think of is that he didn't want to appear to have formed an alliance so soon. Either way, she should be careful trusting him if they ever end up on the same team.

 

I thought that the commercials leading up to the show really misrepresented the 'no help at all' thing. They had water, and they won supplies on the first challenge. It was only slightly different from other season in that regard.

I spent the entire episode yelling at the TV because of this. The had machetes waiting for them and they gave everyone a canteen. Of course, they will say, Oh, we meant "no help" getting TO the Island. They had to row themselves you see.

 

I'm really sick of the false hype they lay on the previews, and no matter how hard I try to be skeptical, I still fall for it all the time.

 

Then, I got all hyped up for the two separate tribes living together aspect. That would have totally rocked if we could have seen sabotage, mind-fucks galore, etc, as the two teams shared a beach and could interact. But then they split them up again, and I had to back to yelling at the TV.
