Romier S
Yes, I feel like a freaking kid again cause Warner Bros. is releasing Thundercats Season 1 on DVD this year :rock Check it out: Thundercats Season 1 I completed my Transformers box sets a few months ago and picked up the available GIJOE sets out there (though it looks as though Rhino lost the rights to both properties, which Paramount now owns so whether we'll see the rest of GIJOE Is up in the air). Now if only Disney would freaking release Duck Tales and Darkwing Duck!
JoeyN
Excellent. It shall be mine. Now someone release Voltron(lions)
CaptainRon
that is awesome news. I used to love the thundercats when i was a kid, even watched it on the cartoon network from time to time a few years back when it was on. Glad to hear it will be available. Orpheus
Yea, loved it when Cartoon network had it as it came on again after bartime. Nothing like watching Thundercats when you're totally lit up. :rock

jhfagan
yeah...bring on He-Man. But The Tick NEEEEEDS to be released on DVD. That was the best cartoon of the 90's, for me at least.

Angry the Clown
I never did much like Thundercats... I tried, I really tried. Mumm-Ra scared the living daylights out of me, and I even had a toy of Panthro, Snarf and a couple of others... It must have been a situation of "no time for you cats now, the Ninja Turtles are here!" or I just plain hated the show outright. Always nice to see anything get a complete season release on DVD though, so I may look into getting it out of morbid curiosity as I can't have seen a single episode in a good fifteen years. Now if only Disney would freaking release Duck Tales and Darkwing Duck! Agreed. I?d also welcome Chip n? Dale Rescue Rangers. I feel that there's not nearly as much on kids television these days, even at weekends, that I find as as endearing as a variety of toons from the 80s and early 90s. Calvin
SPOOOOOOOOON!!!!! The Tick would be great! Other toons I'd really like would be X-Men,Spider-Man & his Amazing Friends,& Dungeons & Dragons. What I want the most (and most likely will never get) are the Go Nagai Force Five Shogun Warrior series. It was only shown in certain parts of the country & each day was a different show. Monday - Danguard Ace Tuesday - Starvengers (Getter Robo G) Wednesday - Spaceketters (wasn't a ginat robot series,so I hated it at the time) Thursday - Grandizer (UFO Robo Grendizer) & Friday - Gaiking (Daiku Maryu Gaiking) There are other Japanese anime giant robot series out there that I'll have one day - Raideen/Raydeen,Combatra/Voltes V,the other Getter series (Getter Robo) And,of course Tranzor Z (the Mazinger/Great Mazinger series). How could you not like a supporting cast where you have a female robot that shoots breast rockets? Some of these have been updated for today (Shin Getter Robo,Mazinkiser). Some really great stuff there! Thundercats was cool though... Thrillho
Do you know of any links to see descriptions or pics about the old Japanese anime giant robot series. I used to watch alot of this when I was a kid and can't remember the name of any of them for the life of me. These would have been on around the late 70's. I can picture the robots, but I'm not good at describing them, It might be easier for me to see pics of the old shows. Also Thundercats!!! :tu
Mark E
Now if only Disney would freaking release Duck Tales and Darkwing Duck! Then you should pick up the first season of Gargoyles already on DVD, which is apparently a test toon for Disney releasing stuff in season sets. And also it's a great show that I love and I would like the rest of it please

Also Thundercats!!! :tu[/quote'] Besides obvious stuff like Voltron, I can remember being obsessed with a show called Tran-zor-Z or something a like that. Being in kindergarten at the time, we all got a kick out of the woman robot who shot out her boob missles!
Thrillho
Voltron was way later than what I'm thinking of. I think you nailed one of them with the tittie missles cartoon. but I know there are others. I remember one where there was a family of robots that were also rockets I beleive. And there was also one were when the bad guy got shot they turned into what looked like to me was applesauce.

Also Thundercats!!! :tu[/quote'] I used to watch several different ones as well but really can't remember most of the names. One I believe had King in the name. Maybe not the cartoon name but I specifically remember a robot with King in its name. Another was called something along the line of Tranzor Z. GreenMonkey
There were some cartoons I loved as a kid I could still watch now for amusement. Thundercats is definitely one of them, I downloaded a couple eps off P2P a few years back and actually watched them. As far as Disney goes, I won't go off on my dislike of Disney rant here, but I will admit that Disney made 2 good TV cartoon shows: 1) Gargoyles 2) Darkwing Duck (sometimes awesome). The only other cartoon I want to see seasons of is Xmen. Enough already of this 1-disk compiliation B.S.
HoolieMan
I am a little reluctant to but some of these cartoons on DVD because I have found that some childhood memories are best left in the past. For example, watching the transformers movie in present day just didn't do it for me. There are some movies like this too. That being said, the thundercats is very tempting. I used to get so excited when it came to the part of the show where he would put his eyes up to the sword and utter the famous words in the title of this thread. jhfagan
Yeah, whole seasons of X-Men would rock.
Awesome-O 4000
Great news, I can throw away my vhs tapes and video cd rips finally. No more shoddy quality for Lion-O dag blast it. Agreed big time on Duck Tales and Darkwing Duck. He-man would be nice too please. I also HIGHLY demand a two disc set of the 13 episodes of the short lived Visionaries series which I adored as a kid. It is out over here on R2 but I don't buy PAL (although I'm thinking about just getting it as a make-do for now). Ahhh, nerds...
