Guest Bryan
I was not able to log onto Live last night and still could not get on this morning. The message says that DNS servers cannot be resolved. I have no idea what could be going on - I can access the internet just fine. I could not access Xbox.com or xboxlive.com last night either. I tried taking the router out of the setup but I still got the DNS error. Travis was not able to access it either, which makes me believe it may not be just my problem alone. Anybody else hear about this? I will also take suggestions from anybody - I really wanted to get online last night! Thanks!
Robot Monkey
Did you check it again today? It isn't impossible that your ISP's name servers got hit in a storm or something. I know that happened to me with Erol's (now RCN, I think) on dial-up a couple years ago. EDIT: Oh, I see you can access the internet normally. How about powering your modem off and on? -j

Guest Bryan
Saw this note on my ISP's site: Some Road Runner customers are currently experiencing issues reaching some Microsoft sites, like Microsoft.com, Hotmail.com, and MSN.com. Some subscribers in the affected area(s) may experience trouble reaching the above mentioned web sites at this time. Our engineers are working quickly to resolve this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. And this one: Road Runner will be conducting Planned Maintenance on the IP network. Subscribers in the affected area(s) may have no connection to the Internet or latency/slow connectivity during this maintenance window. Our engineers are working quickly to complete this maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Problem is, I could still get online via PC. I power-cycled the modem several times; took the router out and went straight from the modem to the Xbox (after power cycling) and nothing worked. Extremely frustrating, to say the least! I am going to try again at lunch and hope for the best. I can't see how anything on my end could be causing this.

This is the type of clear, concise & factual information that I scour the internet high and low to find. And you are so right. I was able to log on at lunchtime with absolutely no problem. I know of other Roadrunner users that are having the same problems.
Jason Merrick
Bryan, I'm not on Roadrunner but I started having problems around 8pm my time (PDT)... when looking for a match it would take a long time to bring them up and then when I tried to join the match it would sit for a few minutes and then say "A connection could not be established."... after several of these messages, I gave up and turned it off. Hopefully, all will be working soon. P.S. I left that room last night after the match was over. I wanted to find another room to play in with you and Kev, but you were gone pretty quick. The guy I knew was LQNEWOLF and he wasn't the one spawn-killing... I don't know if he was friends with the guy who was though, it was a public room. Oh well, that's why I really like to play with LCVG/HTF guys only, but it's been tough lately with not very many of those guys getting on at the same time.
