Big Daddy Bling Bling
Had a really great experience today. I did Razorfen Kraul and ended up getting a 'rare' 1H axe that had 6 more DPS than my dagger. Then, me, a 28 priest, and a 32 warrior headed across the path to Razorfen Downs and started beating on the lvl 34 elites hanging around outside. We were slowly working our way over to the instance, then the warrior had to leave so me and the priest were about to call it quits. Then we came across a really friendly lvl 60 hunter named Fort. He took us through the instance (which is populated by lvl 40 elites that I could barely hit at lvl 34), and let us have all the blue drops for nothing in return. I ended up with: Deathchill Armor Binds when picked up Chest Mail 270 Armor +20 Spirit +9 Intellect +3 Stamina Requires Level 39 Fleshhide Shoulders Binds when picked up Shoulder Leather 95 Armor +5 Strength +15 Stamina +6 Agility Requires Level 37 The exp was great too since we were having to fight 5-7 mobs at a time and they were giving like 160 each. He would tank 2-3, his pet would take 2-3, I'd run around coralling stragglers and dropping AOE damage on problem areas, and the priest healed while trying not to get mauled. I thought it was really cool for a higher lvl guy to just take time out to help while not getting anything in return. The instance seemed glitched which lead to some fiascos. At one point, every mob in the ENTIRE instance aggroed and started flooding the hallway. There were at least 20-30, and they made this solid wall that was 5-6 ranks deep and pretty intimidating when they charged down the hall. These were mobs that we were nowhere near and weren't even within sight range. All of a sudden, there was just a massive undead army. We basically got slaughtered, but luckily I had an ankh so I just reincarnated and rezzed. This is definately something to WoWs credit that you don't have to go with a 'perfect' party setup to get experience. I remember that in FFXI, one person leveling at the 'wrong' time would half exp for the whole party.

You didn't have a warlock with a wayward voidwalker in your party, did you? :lmfao I've been playing my hunters for the last few days on other servers, but I'm done with them for a while. I'd like to get back to Ashi but I'm going to need some help. I still have a bunch of Stromgarde quests to clear, if anyone wants to do those. Josh
I hope to get back on with Stencil this weekend. I left off where everyone left me behind in Hillsbrad, so if anyone wants to come help me clear that out real quick (just have the last 2 Battle Of quests and gotta finish up Elixir of Pain on the south coast), that'd be great. I should be able to get to 30 pretty quick, get my travel form, and then head out to 1k needles or Ashenvale... Anyone want to kill off Fenris Isle as well? PoisonJam
I'm on the same position, Joel. My quest log is full, and just about all of them are either elite or red. I think I have five Stromgarde quests, so if we knock those off that will be a good start. I'll look for you tonight. It will be good to play with Ashi in the deeper end of the pool again after a few days back in Durotar and Dun Morogh.

I actually thought we'd have some chance, but the warlock couldn't fear Thule, and they didn't really want to discuss tactics... so we went 0/2 and the warlock said it was his bedtime. So, can anyone give me the 4-1-1 on what I should default to in order to play with you guys? PoisonJam
Actually I spoke too soon...they did take a host of realms down and they estimated a two-hour downtime, but most of them came up within an hour (including Lothar). Supposedly they implemented some kind of fix that had worked on their European servers, so we'll see how it goes. I will say, once Lothar came back it ran pretty smoothly. No loot lag, short loading times when stoning back to Org, etc. Of course that might also have been because a lot of people gave up with the server came down and didn't come back. PoisonJam
Ok, you guys know how much I love this game. But I just need to vent about something here. No, not the server stuff, I mean in-game aggravations, specifically quests with low drop rates. Some of you may have made it to Stranglethorn Vale already but for those of you who haven't, I submit that the quests in this zone (and there are a ton of them) have such a low drop rate that they fall squarely in the "grinding" category. A few examples: There is a chained quest that starts out needing 8 shadowmaw claws and a tiger fang. Now, shadowmaws are stealthed panthers and the only way to find them is to run around all over the map and wait to hear that "pshoooooon" stealth sound they make when you get near them. So it's already a pain to find them but to make it worse, the drop rate on those claws is ridiculous. I was telling Joel last night that it took me two weeks off and on to get all eight. I must have killed 40-50 panthers to get the eight claws I needed. Not fun. Further in that quest chain you need to get a single tendon from an elder mistvale gorilla. Well I counted how many gorillas I had to kill to get that tendon...forty-three. Do you know how boring it is to run around the same area (along with at least four other people doing the same thing) waiting for gorillas to spawn 43 times? Insane. Worst yet is the troll kill quests. You have to get bloody bone necklaces first, and those aren't too bad. But then you have to gather 25 split bone necklaces and again those are very rare. I killed 27 trolls today before getting one. How many do I need for the quest? Twenty-five! :wtf Up until now my favorite part of WoW (and the thing that to my mind has separated it from City of Heroes) is that there has been very little of this grinding. Almost all of the experience is quest-based, so you don't have to run around and around killing groups of mobs for experience at higher levels as I had to do in Paragon City. But with these Stranglethorn quests I feel like I'm right back in the Abandoned Sewers, going from spawn to spawn to spawn of hydras and losing my mind from the tedium. :bh Hopefully this is just an aggravating zone and when I level past the quests it will be interesting again. Robot Monkey
1. What's the current status on the guild? 2. I still have the Phoenix Gloves tailoring pattern, free to anyone here who wants it. -j
Whooter
1. It's dead, Jim. Quite a few of us have joined other guilds now, and even I have accepted an invite from the guild that Dave and Hugh are in (Evil Eyes of Azeroth). Don't know if I'm staying, yet. Some members seem pretty cool, and some others are complete smacktards. I have a standing invite from another guild that claims to cater to "older" (30's+) players that I've been mulling for awhile. 2. I dunno. I'm not the tailor.
