GrumpyElf
Hi all, Admittedly, I?m not sure how much attention this topic will get, but I have a question. Has anyone watched this that is also familiar with the TV show? I have a kid, and she likes the show, so I see it all the time. I watched the movie last night and noticed the voice of Spongebob is noticeably different, it?s still the same guy, Tom Kenny, but I swear, he has changed the tone of this voice for most of the movie. Tell me I?m not nuts? I can?t be the only one who noticed it. Anyone else? Anyone know why? Tom

GrumpyElf
Well, yea, kinda. But that doesn't really happen till the mid-way point, and his voice is different before that... even my daughter noticed he sounded different. Whooter
Puberty? I haven't seen it, but in the trailer, I see he and Patrick(?) grow mustaches. Maybe his voice is changing...
General Zot
I think it's just the way they record the sound for the movie vs. what they use for TV. If I had to guess (and it is purely a guess), the voice recorders they use for the Nick show is probably pretty cheap, whereas the stuff the studios use for film is nicer. Just like the artwork is a little smoother and bright in the movie version vs. TV. Spongebob is drawn to the same dimensions, but looks better due to more $$$ being spent on the animation attention, transfer, and effort expended. That's what I'm thinking it is. GrumpyElf
You may be right on that... I sure noticed the improvement in visuals, that was really nice!
