The Daisy
I think you all know how that saying goes. I've decided to end my bargains thread. This is a decision that I've thought about a great deal over the past few months, and it's not a decision that I made without a great deal of thought. When I began my thread over at that old message board, there wasn't many people out there compiling information about the weekly ads and letting you know where to find the best prices on games each week. Now? There are entire websites setup for this endeavor and I believe that it has rendered my thread as a dinosaur. Recently I moved to a different town outside of a major city and as a result I do not get all of the advertisements in each weeks paper, and found that I was having to rely on other sites for their "wrapups." When I thought about it, I was essentially using some of their hard work for my thread, and that is hardly fair to them. I don't want to send people from this board to others for information, but I have to say that there are people out there getting the information, that I was posting, up to a week before I could post my thread. The great thing about the forums here is that there is an entire section devoted to deals and bargains. I think that will allow the discussion of what the best deal is for each week to continue. I thank you all for the kind words and thanks that you have given to me while I have worked on my wrapup for the last (Good Grief is it really...) nearly 2 years. Thank you for all of your help with my thread over that time as well. I'll still be posting some deals when I find them from time to time, so this isn't goodbye. Until the next thread... Mark E
Gone but not forgotten, Glenn. Never got a chance to take advantage of many deals, but you always did a bang-up job and prompted some excellent discussions. Two thumbs way up! :tu
Romier S
Gone but not forgotten, Glenn. Indeed. Thank you for hard work over the past almost two years in bringing your weekly wrap up thread to LCVG. I think I speak for all of the owners in saying that everything you have done for this place is so very much appreciated. I know you'll still be posting bargains but I will miss the weekly wrap up ragardless. If this allows you more time with your newborn baby and your wife, then you made the right decision. You simply :rock .
General Zot
Maybe you can still choose a game of the week for fun? Not to be rude to the LCVG, but what other sites compile this info better than you did? I'll need to go there now to get my weekly release fix

Romier S
I'll need to go there now to get my weekly release fix That hurts Joe. Seriously though and not to downplay the loss of Glen doing the weekly wrap-up either since he busted his ass for a long time to bring us that list. Joey is going to pick up the duties and get everythihg compiled along with his weekly DVD round up.
The Daisy
Thanks for the kind words guys. I did think about approaching a person at another site to let him see how I was laying out the gaming stuff that he was putting together to see if I could help him out, but I figured I would just be stepping on his toes. I'll can still throw together my game of the week, but to be honest... I'm not really doing much gaming of late. I was talking with Romier about this lately and gaming just hasn't been as much fun for me of late. I'm not really even interested in the next generation consoles at this point, and that's something I never thought I would say. I'm actually finding that I have to talk myself into buying games rather than talk myself out of buying them. I can't remember the last time I played my Xbox. I've only played my PS2 once in the past 4 months, and I've only turned on my Gamecube just to see how Resident Evil 4 looked. If it wasn't for my DS, I probably wouldn't have played any games other than World of Warcraft for the last 4 months. I'm sure I'll get back to gaming again as much as I used to in the past, but with all that I've got going on right now... it's sadly a very low priority. Again, thanks for all of your kind words. Glennnnnnn (The more n's the better.)

GamerChris
Aw man...the weekly wrapup was my reason for joining here. I really appreciated all your hard work Glen!!
Darius
I really enjoyed the weekly deals also. But to re-iterate the question asked, what are these other sites so that we can still get deal information? The deal section was always a bonus here but not even close to the main reason I read this forum. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. I never missed a week and loved the wrapup. Best to you man, if you get the gaming bug again I'm sure we'll still be here. I'll look forward to Joey's wrapup in the coming weeks.
