Whooter
Here's a shot of Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux, in case anyone cares: Aeon Flux
Romier S
As usual, she is looking pretty damn nice. Didn't imagine they would go with Aeon's "regular" outfit . Still the look doesn't seem to be outright bad. I'm honestly more interested in how they translate the look and feel of the world.
dogbert
There's a cool shot doing the rounds of her & Sithandra, and Charlize has the trademark curled up tips hairwise which is nice to see. I really hope it turns out cool. Huge fan of the cartoon series & I think the "world" has a lot of potential with a lot of themes that resonate well today (cloning, terrorism etc). Mark E
Didn't imagine they would go with Aeon's "regular" outfit I was hoping though Nice to see. I was a big fan of Aeon Flux back in the day, just because it was so intensely bizarre. I'm crossing my fingers she makes the leap to the big screen without incident. dogbert
Nice to see. I was a big fan of Aeon Flux back in the day, just because it was so intensely bizarre. And as much as I hope it translates, I suspect they'll ditch a lot of the bizarreness of the series. I think the cloning will stay intact though. Mark E
Well, at least Peter Cheung is writing it. But, yeah, I don't think the TV show translates perfectly to the big screen given its constantly changing scenarios and half the episodes where Aeon dies and half where she doesn't . I'm hoping he'll be more to form here than he was with that limp short he did for the Animatrix DVD.
dogbert
Well, at least Peter Cheung is writing it. First I've heard that. He's credited for the characters & backstory, but I don't think he actually wrote the screenplay.
kelley
What I absolutely hate is that Trevor is an old man in the film and he has a son, who actually takes Trevor's place in the typical Aeon/Trevor relationship. Personally, my expectations for this film are about as high as they are for the next Uwe Bowell masterpiece.
dogbert
If you're meaning Oren Goodchild, that's his brother in the film, I believe. The actor playing Trevor is only a few years older than Charlize. I've read a bit about the plot, it's got some interesting ideas built from the series. It's definitely different to the series, but has potential. I really don't think it'll end up being Alone in the Dark 2.

I'm still not sold on this one yet, the stills I have seen make me laugh. I can't wait to see the trailer. What is the estimated release date on the movie? dogbert
Sometime this winter, I believe. I don't think they've said a final date - there's actually very little out there about the film so far, though there's a really good interview with one of the writers here at CHUD. For example: there?s a lot of character stuff, the constant tension between these two characters, Aeon and Trevor, who love and hate each other. They are enemies but who clearly love each other in some way, these two battling forces. That?s what the show is about, these battling forces, one which represents science and order and learning and the other is chaos and anarchy... think the basic relationship between Aeon and Trevor is very much like the show. Mark E
Ah, look at that, Phil Hay is credited for screenplay at the imdb. I seem to recall that Chung was writing it, although I may have read somethign wrong there. Thanks for the correction, Brian.

dogbert
Hollywood.com now has an exclusive clip from the film featuring Aeon's lil orb toys. Nice. It's very stylish.
dogbert
MTV has the first Aeon Flux trailer. Kind of. In a crappy format. With stoopid wmv licencing. With very jerky playback. But it's kind of interesting & shows some potential & some weaknesses at the same time, but it's far better than I was afraid of.
dogbert
And the first 'official' review is out... And the best way to sum it up is: "ouch". I'm off to see it in two hours with about 30 other guys from work
foogledricks
And the first 'official' review is out... And the best way to sum it up is: "ouch". I'm off to see it in two hours with about 30 other guys from work I am less interested in your reactions to critics, on the movie. I am more interested in knowing how someone who actually works on a game takes criticism like that in a Gamespot/IGN review. I mean, as much as game fanboys get steamed when their favorite game gets panned, I wonder what someone who actually worked on the game feels like. I would love to see a point-by-point comment on one of the reviews (good and bad stuff).
