Romier S
Gamepost has a news report up confirming Zelda: Four Swords coming to the DS in Japan (which would make an eventual US release almost a guarentee). For those that never played the game on the GBA/Gamecube, it required the use of the GBA/GC connectivity. With the DS's wireless capabilities it should make getting a game together an easier proposition. You can read the report here: http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/03/31/news_6121390.html For gamers who have wanted to try out the game, there's good news. According to retail sources, Nintendo has announced the Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures on the DS in Japan, though no release date or details have yet surfaced. However, with the DS's wireless capabilities, the new portable probably won't be confined to the same restrictions as the GBA.
Orpheus
This would be the perfect opportunity for Nintendo to make use of the wireless capabilities of the DS and roll out online gameplay. Too bad it probably won't happen. :bh
Romier S
Nintendo is already working on the DS Wireless network so it's not out of the realm of possibility Travis. If Four Swords simply allows you and your buddies to link up wirelessly in the same vicinity, that is already a great advancement over the need to have four GBA's. If the DS network is set come release time for the game though, I'm sure Ninty will ad some sort of online play via wireless hot spots. The Daisy
I never got a chance to play the GC version of Four Swords, so I wouldn't mind seeing it for the DS. If it had an internet mode that could be a great deal of fun. Glen
JFo
This isn't completely unexpected news, but it's certainly most welcome. I had the good fortune of playing through all of Four Swords Adventures with three other people last year, and I consider it to be the second-best game of 2004 (behind Ninja Gaiden). For those that are interested in playing it, but don't have enough friends with GBAs to make use of the multiplayer modes, it's still a very fun and enjoyable single player experience and I highly recommend it. As for the DS version, I do hope that Nintendo makes use of the microphone for online play (assuming it supports that feature of course). Because this game requires so much communication between the other players to get through each level, it would necessity to include that. Let's hope they do. Mark E
Blasting it up from the past, this is a reminder that in honor of Zelda's 25th anniversary, Four Swords is currently a freebie on DSiWare. I had totally forgotten this until last night and picked it up on the 3DS. Love this game so damn hard, and hey, FREE. I wish it had made more of a dent in the gaming community, but thanks Nintendo for being dumb regarding online.
