rustyjaw
Argh. I thought you were able to back up gave saves from the PSP onto a computer?? I copied my game saves off and reformatted the card, then copied them back and the PSP says that they are all corrupted!! Noooo! I reformatted the card because one of the PSP syncing utilities I checked out said that it was going to add files to the card for syncing purposes. I wasn't sure what files they were, and the utility didn't work anyway, so I wanted to restore the card to a 'default' state. Now all my game saves appear lost. I still have them on my hard drive, anyone have any ideas on how to restore them? Maybe I'm missing something obvious.
dogbert
That's weird - I actually did much the same thing, I moved my Wipeout save to my HD, used the PSP menu to "format" the memory card (so I'd have the correct dir structure), copied the folder back & it worked. Hmmmm. According to Windows, I have this filestructure on my PSP for my savegames: PSP\Game\Savedata\ Do you still have a 0 byte memstick.ind hidden file in the root? rustyjaw
PSP\Game\Savedata\ Do you still have a 0 byte memstick.ind hidden file in the root? Yes. I did the format through the PSP interface as well. If I go over to the game area of the interface to "Game saves" is just shows a bunch of 'corrupted' icons. I opened Lumines, and it says "Game Save Corrupted". I tried reformatting the card again, then starting Lumines in order to generate a new save folder for Lumines, and then I replaced the files inside there, but the result was the same. Not sure what to try next.
Zathras
I have formatted and copied over game saves without incident before. I had to format because apparently I deleted something but forgot to empty the trash before disconnecting so I didn't have all my space available... rustyjaw
Well, I have no idea why, but I think it's OK now. All of my previous attempts were done at work, and I just tried copying the saves over from my home machine and it looks like everything is fine now. Maybe there's some weird problem with my work machine...I don't get it. But I'm happy to have my saves back!
