Chatakinns
Just wondering ..... here in Rhode Island, people can not survive without Dunkin Donuts. There seems to be 1-3 stores every mile. 24 hours a day you see people with great big cups of Dunkin Donuts coffee. I don't even think most people have donuts, they just want coffee. Which is really great coffee. So, here it's Dunkin Donuts, where I lived in TX it was 7-11 and Circle K. What's in your area that people can't live without ? Thrillho
In South Jersey, Philadelphia suburbs area its all about WaWa. Quite possibly the most perfect store ever created. Coffee, Hoagies, Hot sandwiches and meals, Gasoline... and a ton more. I not only go there for the morning breakfast(dunkin donuts are freshly delivered to everymorning), but lunch is from there on average 3 days a week. exile
In Tulsa, OK it's Quiktrip. They own Tulsa.
Camp
Walgreens (in the event you don't have one every .5 miles, it's a drug store) here in St. Louis. They've always been pretty common but suddenly they've exploded to the point where there are a few areas where there is a Walgreens across the street from another Walgreens. I wish QuickTrip's were more common in St. Louis. We probably have 30 or so of them but that's not enough, IMO. They are great little gas stations...I'd like to see QT take over the gas station/mini mart industry. They're just so fast and well operated. exile
Quiktrip is very sporadic elsewhere. None in OKC as far as I know. I was a little shocked to see them in Kansas City while I was there but not very many of them. Same goes for Iowa City. If you have ever been to Corpus Christi Texas, You know that on every corner (It seems) there is a Whattaburger.
Jordan_E
Starbucks. Of course, I live in the greater Seattle area, the home of Starbucks. But not only the Big S, but here there seems to be one of those small coffee huts about every other block!
Graeme
Vancouver is also Starbucks Country. They're everywhere, and just keep appearing all over the place. We have the famed Robson Starbucks which are directly kittycorner from each other (there was a Quicktime VR of them online somewhere that I can't find now), but there are two others now downtown that are even closer together... directly across from each other on a fairly narrow street. It just blows my mind. On top of all that we've also got numerous other chains, and lots of single locally owned coffee shops all over the place too. http://www.starbuckseverywhere.net/Vancouver.htm Right after that would be Squeegee kids. Thrillho
No Tim Hortons out there in Vancouver??? I spent the summer of 2000 working in Canada, and their Chicken Salad Sandwich commercial still gives me nightmares. I sware that commercial was played during every commercial break of anything I watched up there that summer :bh I even tried the darn sandwich and wasn't impressed at all. Their donuts were fine though.

JoeyN
Dunkin Donuts, Drug Stores, Fast Food and Banks. In a 10 block area all around there are more then 3 of each of these capt
Graeme
No Tim Hortons out there in Vancouver??? They are around, but there was a distinct lack of them in most of Vancouver until recently. There's now 3 or 4 downtown and a few in the surrounding areas, but you reall have to go out to the surrounding cities more to find them consistantly.... and it's not close to the number of Starbucks around here. And we can't even come close to competing with the East coast in the number of Tim Hortons.
General Zot
Hmmm, in Denver/Colorado I would guess either Bicycle stores, or liquor stores. Bikes because this must be the cyclist capital of the universe (really, it's nuts up here) and liquor becasue by law supermarkets and food stores can't sell it. So we get tons of liquor stores to take up the slack.
