Ninja Gaiden 2 at E3

Apparently retailers have an entry for "Ninja Gaiden Black" and Tecmo's official word is "Wait for E3." The big question is whether this is for Xbox or Xbox 2. Previous interviews have indicated that NG 2 would be for Xbox 2. So that is my bet, and hope.

Won't even have to read the reviews on this one. Like Zelda and Halo 3, automatic buy.

I'm willing to be it's nothing more than Ninja Gaiden with all of the Hurrican Pack content and something extra to justify a full price purchase. Itagaki has wanted to get the Hurricane pack content into non-Live gamers hands for awhile. That's where my money is at the moment.

Yeah, I'm thinking Romier's got the right idea. It's early for a new Ninja Gaiden game. Doing a deluxe edition with all the Hurricane Pack content makes sense for those who may not have picked it up yet. If they did that, I only wonder if they would re-do the original version of the game so that you have the improved camera scheme found on the add-ons.

While we're on the subject, I picked this one up and started playing again after about six months. To say that I was rusty would be a bit of an understatement. I used to be able to plow through that game on Normal with relatively few deaths (after my first time through that is). Now I have trouble dealing with some of the low-end baddies. This is definitely one of those games that you need to play on a regular basis to stay good at it.

I don't know, this could go either way. I mean it's not like they need to write a whole new engine to run a new NG on the Xbox 360, the last one still has plenty of 'pep' in it IMO.

If it's NG 2 though, I'm with sheepboy: insta-buy! Man, it's starting to look like I'll be dropping $600-700 on the 360 when it streets this November. Damn them to hell...

Sounds very interesting. And OMG is this quote AWESOME!

So, he says, "I am the director of Devil May Cry 3; pleased to meet you!" and I said, "Pleased about what, dumbass!" I was drunk at the time, after all. He was young, so I slapped him on the back and said, "You just work hard so that one day people will say 'Team NINJA in the East [Tokyo], Capcom in the West [Osaka]'." The product of his labor after that little pep talk was DMC3. It got decent reviews here in Japan, and I think he did pretty well for a young guy. If he's lucky, he might make something even better next time.

From the 1UP article:

"...Black is not simply Ninja Gaiden with the Hurricane Packs slapped on."
A new mode with around 50 missions, new enemies, new enemy placement, new difficulty levels, etc.

It does have some changes & improvements, but it is also Ninja Gaiden with the hurricane packs. :)

Ninja Gaiden 2 might not be on 360? To be honest, this is inline with what Team Ninja's philosophy has been all along. That they chose Xbox because it was the most powerful console. So by that logic, since the PS3 is apparently the most powerful console to be developing on at the moment, it would make sense to go to it. I just hope that what Team Ninja has been saying is BS, and they now have loyalty toward Microsoft. Because I want to be playing Ninja Gaiden 2 sometime in the future, and because so far I'm only sure I'll be buying a 360, I really hope Team Ninja shows further Xbox love.

Personally, I'd rather see it on whichever console is more powerful. The sequel game as good as Ninja Gaiden deserves as much power as Team Ninja wants. If that happens to be on the PS3, so be it. I'm buying all three consoles anyway, so it doesn't really matter to me.

As has been said before, Tecmo is a business and have shown themselves to be quite mercenary when it comes to whoring Team Ninja games when it suits them

I'm not sure, but if NG 2 switched over to PS3, this might be a significant consideration for me buying a PS3 when the time comes.
