Family Guy is Back!

For all those that aren't aware, Family Guy is returning for a new season starting this Sunday... followed by American Dad.

However, the first Family Guy has managed to find it's way onto the net (although some of you are already knew that, I'm sure) and it is hilarious. The opening bit with the cancelled Fox shows had me laughing harder than most shows do in an entire show.

I was a little worried after the lack of laughs in American Dad, but thankfully there was no need.

Oh man, was the new Episode great. Mel Gibson's priest henchmen had me in stitches as well as Gepeto bent over in front of pinochio trying to get him to lie. :rotflmao

And yes, the Cancelled Fox Show intro was friggin' brilliant. I so hope Family Guy gets the attention it deserves now that it is back on the air.

Yeah, the new "first" episode was great. I still can't get that look stewie gave brian when brian slipped about the upside down face, out of my head.

Yeah, the slow head turn and his face were great. Also Stewie telling Chris to say that he got the bruises from a baseball. :lmfao

I'm really just not that excited about american dad. the pilot was mediocre and I found myself finding things to distract me during the episode last night.

I'm fairly confident family guy will have a stronger following this go round. As long as they don't move it around every week like last time...

I somewhat enjoyed American Dad. Being a conservative, I find it funny to see the conservative stereotype portrayed in a humorous manner.

Family Guy was funny as ever, but IMO they did go over the top to try to offend Christians. I can take a joke as well as the next guy, but had to cringe when Chris Tucker offered Jesus a joint.

Family Guy had a pretty healthy rating last night with a 6.3/9. If it maintains that level, it should stick around awhile.

IMHO, it was one of the best Family Guy episodes to date. It had its moments that fell flat for me, but there were far more that had me on the floor laughing. One of my favorite lines: "Stealing Mel Gibson's towels, bathrobes and Nazi paraphernalia is one thing..." :lmfao

I'm not a great fan of family guy beyond some of its humorous television spoofs. I didn't much care for the new episode but the Honeymooners and GI.Joe scenes made me laugh.

I'm also not a fan of the show, and now I'm bitter that it's been given a second life, yet Futurama is still gone...

I thought the episode started off really well, but lost some steam towards the end. The spoof of North by Northwest was amusing, but not nearly as hilarious as the stuff at the beginning.

Things I liked from the episode include:

  • Peter telling the family that they've been cancelled and why.
  • "Stop it! Stop it!"
  • Everyone trying to not listen to Peter and Lois going at it.
  • Peter reading the comic while driving.
  • "And knowing is half the battle!"
  • Peter the booger.

Hopefully, this is a sign of more good shows to come. It's really a hoot seeing a new episode after so long.

I've watched the episode 5 times this past week, including yesterday on TV. It continues to crack me up.

Besides the stuff already mentioned (Stewie's reaction to Upsidedown face, GI Joe etc)

  • It's Good to have Land
  • Oooh, I love Total
  • *Peter Laugh*.... Gross (right after the prepping the diaphram comment from Lois)
  • A heroic warrior who defied to the English to free England from the English
  • High Class British Porn
  • He gonna get it!
  • Asian reporter Trisha Takanowa trying to sneak into the Park Barrington
  • Stewie - Did I remember to turn the stove off?.... Yes
  • You crazy Jesus.... you CRAZY! (the funniest thing Chris Tucker has ever said, and he didn't say it)
  • Mel Gibson shooting his safe open to get a gun
  • You can't eat all those Hamburgers
  • Lois, trust me. How many times have I done this before?
  • Stewie - Hehehe, you're funny
  • I was the first one that wanted to go to war!

Ya, there was lots of stuff I liked.

I found this weeks episode of American Dad to be pretty good. Leaps and bounds better than the Pilot which I barely laughed at, but this one has quite a few. Hopefully it'll find it's stride quickly.

And remember to watch Bird on a Wire this Saturday on TBS Superstation!

It was Futurama or the Simpsons that had to go. I wish they hadn't chosen wrong, but they did. Whatcha gonna do?

That said, laugh for laugh, Family Guy keeps me on the floor more consistently then either of those two. Perhaps it's sense of humour just works for me better. And last night, laugh for laugh, had me in stitches. :rock

Looking back on the episode, I'd say my favorite line in the whole thing was when Chris told Brian that he didn't have to listen to him because he was a dog and therefore didn't have a soul. I guess it wasn't so much what he said, but Brian's reaction to it.

"Ouch," indeed. :D

So what did everyone think of last nights episode? I loved it. Stewie is stealing the show every week. Peter as Larry from Three's Company was great and you can see by my sig below what my favorite line of the night was. Stewie helping with the dead body was hilarious and Peter turning into the tampon as a wonder twin was as well. Oh the You Can't Do That on Television gag was also funny. :)

I also enjoyed American Dad as well last night. So far I have liked both episodes.

"Giggetygiggetygiggetygiggetygiggetygiggetygigg"

Family Guy has the most laughs per minute of anything on TV, except maybe Arrested Development.

"How's your French Toast?"

"Smelly and ungrateful. But this AMERICAN toast is delicious!"

This was my favorite line from American Dad. I'm still liking the show, although it is weaker than Family Guy.
