JohnE
Whats everyone waiting for on the Cube? I'm kind of wishy-washy on Mario Kart. I'll probably wait for reviews and see how it goes. Viewtiful Joe has got my interest but again I'll probably wait and see. I have no interest in FF Crystal Chronicals at all. The only game I think I'll be buying without waiting is going to be 1080: Avalanche. Am I missing anything? Not knocking on the Game Cube here. I really just don't see or know about much of anything to be excited about.
NickC
good question, rebel strike, mario kart, viewtiful joe, prince of persia(multi), pilotwings, pikmin 2, Metal gear solid remake, 1080(I am not excited about this one yet), star fox 2, and i am out
Camp
I can't imagine Mario Kart being bad. The Metal Gear remake is on my list as well. I expect a lot of people will list Rogue Squadron III as well. Beyond that, everything else I'm interested in is being released on Xbox too. I think the lack of exclusive software & known AAA games in development is evidence Nintendo has shifted resources to the next generation. Mark E
If the latest reports are accurate, Mario Kart has been sped up significantly since it was shown at E3, so hopefully that pans out to be true for the finished product, yes? I'm looking forward to the Metal Gear Solid remake, despite not being originally interested. I'll have a copy of Resident Evil: Code Veronica X the second it's out, but who expected less from me? I may get Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, but I don't really plan on it unless more of my friends miraculously get GBAs. Ditto Four Swords. Mario Tennis is gonna be out soon and I'm definitely getting that based on my experience with Mario Golf. Otherwise, yeah, it's a shallow palette. I'm hoping we see the next Animal Crossing this-gen, but if the delay brings online support, that'd be way better. Can you imagine an LCVG-opolis? I can . My top tier titles that I am looking for: Donkey Konga and Tales of Symphonia. I am dying to get my hands on ToS next year and Donkey Konga seems like such a fun concept that I'll be getting my hands on it at all costs. I had no idea that was coming out. Cool! Do you know if it's being done by the same people who did Mario Tennis for the N64? Hope so. Yeah I hope that's true as well. I remember being a bit disappointed in the impressions people had of the game at the time. I still want this game but I'll robalby end up waiting awhile to get it. heavy liquid
I hope the rumors are true about the possibility of a bonus Mario Kart 64 (a la Zelda:Ocarina of Time) disc being included with Mario Kart Double Dash. If this is done, I'll be getting it for sure. Viewtiful Joe and Billy Hatcher were a lot of fun on the recent preview disc, so I'll probably be getting those as well. I'm also really looking forward to Donkey Konga. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Hopefully it'll be released domestically, because I can only imagine the import prices. Don't forget Killer 7. If the gameplay turns out as good as how this game is looking, I'm all over it.
Mark E
Hopefully it'll be released domestically Shouldn't see this being a problem, Nintendo has gotten better at bringing over niche titles that normally we'd never see outside of an import shop. I mean, if they make a huge announcement it's rather likely we'll see it here. If Cubivore can make it here, anything can . Forgot about Viewtiful and the other Capcom titles. I suppose I should plug Resident Evil 4 but is there a need? Looks like the creepiest RE yet from the videos, which could be an interesting series direction. Oh, one I forgot last time, that cool new version of Pac-Man. It looks really neat in the video footage I've seen and definitely the most interesting use of the GBA-GC link yet to my mind, so here's hoping it'll prove to be a fun one (for a discount price, dammit ). Camp
I hope the rumors are true about the possibility of a bonus Mario Kart 64 (a la Zelda:Ocarina of Time) disc being included with Mario Kart Double Dash. If this is done, I'll be getting it for sure. Is it supposed to be the N64 or SNES version? My vote is totally in favor of the SNES version. Oh, one I forgot last time, that cool new version of Pac-Man. Has that been officially announced? It was shown at E3 as a tech demo but it was my understanding they hadn't yet obtained a license from Namco. I assume stuff has changed since then? Is there a release date? Mark E
Is it supposed to be the N64 or SNES version? My vote is totally in favor of the SNES version. Seems like so far the rumor mill says N64 version. Both would be my vote . I still have my cart for the SNES hooked up so not as big a deal for me . Far as Pac-Man goes, I'm not sure it's been announced officially but the good will between Namco and Nintendo of late gives me hope. They had a public-playable version at whatever the last big game trade show was, which suggests they were planning to release it, otherwise it'd be a rather large carrot to dangle. Here's the link to the IGN footage: Pac-Man GC in action
Starhawk
All of the SNES tracks are hidden on Mario Kart: Super Circuit for GBA. So, in a sense, they are already playable on the Cube with the GBA player.
dogbert
Don't forget Killer 7. If the gameplay turns out as good as how this game is looking, I'm all over it. Reports are it's going to be some sort of click'em'up "murder mystery" game. I suspect it's going to flop if it's what it sounds like... The Daisy
Viewtiful Joe, Rogue Squadron III, Mario Tennis, FF Crystal Chronicles, Pikmin 2, Metal Gear Solid (probably), Mario Kart, and possibly 1080. What can I say... I'm a Nintendo guy. Glen
Mark E
I suspect it's going to flop if it's what it sounds like... No worries though, people will say it's because it's on the Cube instead of Capcom once again half-baking the gameplay . I'm hoping that this turns out to be a good title, it does look quite nice. dogbert
It's got potential, Pharmboy, and the artwork is definitely stylish. But the same could be said for PN03... I think Viewtiful Joe so far has been the most succesful of these Capcom "experiments". Looking forward to its US release.
Romier S
click'em'up "murder mystery" game Yep, latest on the game is its a "choose your path" adventure game. You go along the story and select various options on a "live" screen for how to proceed. When the time for assasinations come the game switches to a first person view from there. Sounds interesting but I'm inclined to agree with Brian if that is indeed what the game ends up as. (Though if it ends up being good it sure wont kill my enjoyment for it )
Mark E
But the same could be said for PN03 That's my point though, Brian. We're getting these exclusive games, but they end up being let-downs in the gameplay department. Really rather frustrating. I'm always amazed at the concepts companies put out and expect will sell like gangbusters. I mean, Viewtiful Joe seems like fun, but didn't anybody stop at P.N.03 and go 'ok, is this gameplay going to be boring or choppy or no?'? I suppose not being in game development I can't really answer that question, but speculation is fun
Angel P
I'm too backed-up to purchase any games. I was tempted to use my $30 EB voucher for F-Zero but since I'm still knee-deep in Burnout 2, I instead used the voucher to get Hitman 2 for $11. Not that THAT helps, since this adds another game to my shelf waiting to be played.
Starhawk
To be honest, there's not that much I'm looking forward to on the Cube besides Mario Kart:DD which I will be playing the shit out of. I was looking forward to P.N. 03 and Killer 7 more than Viewtiful Joe, and we all know what happened with Vanessa. Now, I'm at least a little worried about the possibility of another Capcom dissapointment with Killer 7. Hopefully Joe will make up for it all. Rogue Squadron looks good, Metal Gear is just a remake for me, and I'm a little interested in Crystal Chronicles. I'm also a big wrestling fan, and even though I've heard that Wrestlemania XIX is an improvement over Wrestlemania X8, that's not really hard to do . After seeing how cool the new Smackdown is going to be on PS2, it makes it hard for me to justify spending the money on the new WWE Cube game. And since I've had to be a little strict with what I spend my money on lately, I am much more concious of what games I buy right now. And it looks like Nintendo and the Cube's third party developers arent doing a great job of convincing me to buy more. It's not that I'm not enjoying my Cube, it just seems that this is the dryest period I've seen, software wise, for the Cube since it launched. I hope they have some cool stuff up their sleeve soon.
