merlot
The fact Warlock is a Wizard remake makes me want a Hang 'Em High remake REAL bad. Hang Em High was my favorite map, followed by Boarding Action. We decided to try some clan matches last night, too, but after a few rounds I was reminded of why I stopped playing Halo 2 so many months ago. It's amazing how many asshats are in the game. For some reason, almost all of them call you a "nigga" after they kill you. One night we started to combat that situation by telling them they have a great ass (it's from a hilarious Joe Rogan skit). Talk about utter confusion on their part; "I think that guy was just talking about my ass".
Thrillho
The use of the n word is really outta hand when playing the masses. Lately every other match made game we've been playing has some teenage a$$hat running around calling everyone that. WTF is with that? Talk about utter confusion on their part; "I think that guy was just talking about my ass". Hehe, nice. That reminds me of something I meant to touch on... Wasn't 2 matches before we were accused of cheating and had the opposing clan whining and calling us every nasty name in the book. It was a neutral bomb game. They armed the bomb one time without planting it. So we took the armed bomb into their base and planted it right away (since it was already armed). They wouldn't even listen to our explanation and insisted we were using an "instant bomb" hack The use of the n word is really outta hand when playing the masses. Lately every other match made game we've been playing has some teenage a$$hat running around calling everyone that. WTF is with that? Haven't you heard? Chris The Rock
Haven't you heard? It's cool to be a racist (and sexist, if you have the opportunity) homophobe on Live I use feedback on every single person who ruins my experience with that kind of behavior. Bungie says they'll start banning people for that. However, I rarely play against people who aren't on my friends list. It's just not worth my time. In fact, I haven't played rumble pit with my headset on since the first time I played. I absolutely can't stand the sound of pre-pubescent cursing. Covak
How did they arm the bomb without planting it. There's time enough between the two events to blow an armed bomb out of someone's hands (and it stays fully armed until planted).
HoolieMan
It's amazing how many asshats are in the game. For some reason, almost all of them call you a "nigga" after they kill you I find the more frequent term is "Bitch". Everybody is running around calling everybody else bitch. I really enjoy trash talking when I am playing with people I know but if somebody I don't know starts mouthing off, it bugs me. I just don't get the need to kill somebody and then say "That right bitch!". Like killing me (or anybody else in the game) is really much of a feat to accomplish. Don't get me wrong, trash talking has its place. I just think many asshats over use it without backing it up.
Mithran
You seem to forget that all those asshats are really tough when they talk on XBL :monkey . They scare me. :lmfao They are the real bicthes because I guarantee if we met them in real life they'd run away with the tail they just grew between their legs shoved up their newly grown female genitals :slap: . Just remember talk is talk and games have a mute feature. :insane: They're just dumbass teenagers who have no clue what the hell the meaning of the words they use is. foogledricks
I bought the new Killtackular maps last night. I have two Xboxes. My question is if I have to pay twice for the same maps simply because I own two boxes. I think the answer is yes. But the answer SHOULD be no. I'm guessing that if I buy the Halo 2 expansion in the store, I can use it on whatever Xbox I want, just as i can use my Copy of Halo 2 on any Xbox I want. So if they force me to pay twice, its not because they WANT to charge me twice, or think that is a good business practice. They just didn't think the process through, and put the proper mechanisms in place to make it work logically. Which sucks. Microsoft would like me to log into Xblive anywhere in the world and retain my settings, services, and identity. The way things currently are, sort of works against that. Edit: This just in, from Bungie: I'm afraid so. The maps are sold on a per-box basis, much like downloadable music, or in fact, any kind of software. This is done to prevent piracy of course; otherwise every school in America would be passing around one memory card with a Live account on it. Like it or not, the new content requires thousands of man hours, resources and other costs to produce, and even though we love puppies AND babies, we're not a charity. That said, when they are eventually free, in summer, you can go nuts and fill up as many Xboxes as you like.
Big Daddy Bling Bling
The use of the n word is really outta hand when playing the masses. Lately every other match made game we've been playing has some teenage a$$hat running around calling everyone that. WTF is with that? Just to play devil's advocate, is calling someone a nigga worse than calling someone a teenage asshat? Are asshats and bitches equally bad? You seem to be falling in with the same crowd you're trying to criticize. The microphone was put there so that shit could be talked.
foogledricks
The microphone was put there so that shit could be talked.True enough. But nigga is a racially charged word that (I'm guessing) makes more people uncomfortable than almost any other word in the language. That includes all the swear words that aren't supposed to be said on television before 8pm. Words are just words. But you have to consider your company. If I'm with women that I don't know well, I would never use a word like "Pussy" or "Tits" because that just doesn't meet the decorum. "Nigga" has similar types of socially acceptable forums that don't include a room full of 15 strangers who you have no idea of their race, sex, or background. Cyberwoo
I'm not buying your argument there Big Daddy. Anyone with common sense knows that the term "nigga" is not something that you should be letting loose around a bunch of strangers and it bothers me that someone doesn't see the harm in it. Myself I am not one to get offended by any word but I know there are people that do get offended so I honor such people by choosing my words carefully like when playing games online with people I do not know. I just dont understand why people think that because they are anonymous it gives them the right to be disrespectful.

foogledricks
But what happens when your kid says daddy whats a nigga or whats a dirty cunt bag or some other god other god awfull slur they may hear?Well, I was just kidding. But a serious response to you question above: I obviously do not like the excessive use of foul language by strangers in my company. For people here, with whom I have become closer friends with, I have plenty of fun listening to and using outlandish language as a form of trash talk and a good dose of irony. Like when Jason says while headshotting me that he shot the same way inside my wife! But as to the general parental concerns with exposing one's kids to curse words: I live in the same real world that my child will live in. I cannot shield her from that world forever. I've always assumed that I will try to be the type of parent that informs and explains to my child these aspects of the world rather than hide them. I imagine I'll say something like, "People like to use swear words because they're not supposed to use them. And people who use swear words excessively are looked down on by other people." Something like that. In reality, the conversation will probably go something like this, "If you ever say 'shit' again you will be grounded for one year." Derrik Draven
I just leave bad feedback then, mute the fukkers. :rock Unless Xbox Live starts actively policing the game sessions by actually having a moderator in each one (extrodinarily unlikely ever going to happen), or if they come up with some super dee duper voice recognition that tags foul language, there isn't nothing any of us can do except try to play games with people we know or, mute the fukkers. Big Daddy Bling Bling
I would wager to say most people objecting to the use of the word nigga are in fact not black. Please get off your politcally correct high horse. If someone calls me a stupid honky white bread cracker, I am going to laugh it up and call them a cock-gobbling bitch. Xbox Live is a haven for the immature. You can either accept it for what it is and embrace it, quit playing/unplug your mic, or whine about it on a forum. However, I don't think anything you do is going to cause the Live subscriber base to act differently.
Thrillho
Look the last thing I'm ever going to be on is a politcal high horse. But not realizing the difference between using the word nigga and smack talking by using bitch and asshat is is something I just don't get. The idoits I mostly hear saying it are young kids who have no idea how offensive that word can be. How do they know they're not playing with someone who is in fact black. Or as I shall politcally correctly say african american. Those other words don't have the history of oppression and racism that are contained in the n word. There's just no reason ever to use that word when your on live, ever.
Cyberwoo
Since when does speaking like an adult who has respect for others = "politically correct high horse"? : I'm in no way a "PC" advocate...far from it actually. Just ask some of my friends. However I consider myself to be a pretty friendly guy who takes pride in treating others like I want to be treated and just flat out having respect for other people in general. By shouting racial slurs and/or various curse words into my mic when playing an online game on XBL I am not taking into consideration that there may be other people within ear shot of my words that may be offended and turned off by my words. I'm especially sensative to kids hearing stuff. They are like little sponges. They hear something (especially from an adult) and they will blurt it out thinking it is normal and ok to say. How am I to know that some guy I'm playing against or with doesn't have his kid sitting next to him? How am I to know that there might be a female within ear shot of a sexual joke? It just boils down to having respect for others and acting like a decent human being. I dont see why certain people think that is such an outlandish thing to wish for. This "meh the problem isn't going to go away so I'll just talk that way back at them" mentality is complete garbage. Anyway I've completely forgotten that this thread is about Halo 2 and its expansion pack. Apoligies for getting off topic but this is a sore subject with me. I am so sick and tired of people having a complete lack of repsect for others. Soooo who wants to play some Halo 2 tonight?

Hank Scorpio
My pals and I talk nonsense on Live. A lot. Going back to Socom with Gary, Cal, Dean, Travis, Wally, Romier....the list can go on and on for days - we all had fun talking turkey. Going back even further - nonsense was typed in on a keyboard connected to the Dreamcast in games like NFL2K1 and PSO. The same continued when the majority of people shifted to XBox Live. Some of the names we came up with in Wolfenstein still make me laugh. But there's a big difference between juvenile sophomoric language and racist/homophobic languauge. And I rarely talk nonsense when I'm in games with people I don't know. I have no idea how comfortable people I've never met are with swearing. So I'm not going to tell someone I've never played a game with before to suck my dick from the back with a crazy straw (thank you Organized Konfusion for that line). ----- I just downloaded the new maps today, played one of them briefly. If nothing else, it forced me to plop Halo 2 back in the box - a place it hasn't been in months. I'm still holding out hope for a reworked version of Damnation, but I'm glad that there are new maps to play.
