Probably just The Aviator for me this week. There are a bunch of CE out for Day After tommorow, Man on Fire and I-robot however all they did was just put the original transfer and sound tracks on it and add a few extras

Buying:

The Aviator

Man On Fire SE (held off on buying the original in antication of the SE)

Batman TAS Season 3

Also, those special editions you speak of Joey feature much more than just "a few extras". For those that do not own those movies you get a wealth of special features on both the Man on Fire and I-Robot All Access Special Editions. Man on Fire for instance features a rather exhaustive 70 minute documentary on the making of the movie, two commentary tracks, and over a half hour of deleted scenes. I-Robot features two 40 minute documentaries as well as three commentary tracks including one by score composer Marco Beltrami. The extras are rather substantial on both releases if you are a fan of those films and interested in special features in general. The Day After Tommorrow is the only release of the bunch that got "punked" in terms of features.

but if your going to to release a SE after the original releases at least put a longer edition of the film or something

If that's the standard you need to double dip, that's fine Joey. Different folks have different interests when they buy a special edition or double dip for that matter. However, as I originally pointed out, I'd hardly classify the amount of extra features you are getting on these special editions as only "a few". If Fox knows how to do anything, it's how to put together a good special edition. For someone interested in the process by which these films were made, the extras are rather substantial and worth looking into if you do not as of yet own these films.

Thanks for the round up as always. :tu

By saying "a few" my meaning was misrepresented. The thing is i do watch extras on the DVD's. Im also a fan of director commentatries. Ill also probably pick up the SE for MOF and I-robot down the line when they drop in price. I guess im just tired of new SE's coming out less then a year after the originals

Oh on that we agree. Sony is one of the worst offenders in that regard with thier constant double dips. It's to a point where I won't buy initial DVD releases from certain studios just because I know they'll eventually dip into that well again down the line. I made the mistake of buying the The Grudge on release for instance only to end up trading it in and rebuying the Extended Cut. It gets old and unless there is something substantial I'm interested in, I try my hardest not to double dip (I don't own Man on Fire as I noted).

Only Chapelle Show Season 2 for me. I barely have time to watch the actual films, let alone the extras. So I'll just stick to my regular editions of the new Fox line. I would get the I Robot and MOF editions in a heartbeat if extras interested me.

I-Robot and MOF for me. I knew a double dip was coming and never bought the originals.

I would only buy Day After Tomorrow if I was out of toilet paper and needed something to wipe my ass with.

Aviator I expect an SE.. this is likely a renter for now.
