Angry the Clown
Gods be praised if this happens. A friend e-mailed me this morning highlighting news at Billy West's forum (from West himself) in response to recent reports at gotfuturama.com claiming Fox were interested in doing new direct to DVD episodes. Here's what Billy West said: Well, I spoke to David X.Cohen because we did promos for a new Futurama compilation and he said that they did have talks with the top guys at FOX and they were extremely impressed with the sales of the Futurama DVDs. The idea was to make a Futurama movie right to DVD and then a 2nd and a 3rd. That's what's being discussed. Fox is trying to figure out a budget for the whole project, and it sounded like David X. was very jazzed! A trilogy of Futurama movies? Oh my... WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!!! Graeme
We can only hope! Amazing how DVD sales have managed to bring dead shows back to life in some form. Firefly, Family Guy, and now maybe Futurama. And all Fox shows that got the shaft when they were on that network.
Whooter
Yep! All because the NFL can't tell time, too. ;)
rustyjaw
Is this a sign of strong DVD sales, or Fox's ineptness? Probably both. I sure hope this happens.

The Daisy
I would be happier with a series of episodes on DVD's, but I'll take more Futurama any way I can get it. Glen

rustyjaw
Billy West stated again today at Comic Con they were going to do a direct to dvd movie. :tu This is great! If it sells well, I hope it becomes a series of movies... It's funny how when you're at Comic-con, you can only experience a tiny part of it. I didn't even know Billy West was here. Angry the Clown
David Cohen is still stressing to http://www.gotfuturama.com that they've not yet received the green light, but it's still looking good. John Dimaggio was also talking about them fairly recently too. "Isn't that the same machine that makes noses?" "It can do other things! Why shouldn't it?" The Daisy
More info about the possible Futurama return. If they don't bring this show back, they can bite my shiny metal daffodil. Glen
Angry the Clown
Great link, Glen. The wonderful episode where Fry meets the '80s guy' and has him run Planet Express was on television here early on Sunday morning. I’ve lost count of how many times I have watched the DVDs, but even when I catch a repeat on TV I never find myself tiring of it. I'm not sure Futurama ever had a bad episode...
