jhfagan
So like I had mentioned in another thread, maybe even this one.... ( can't remember... so many threads! lol ) they should now run with the ball and make a be-all-end-all 3-D SW fighting/RPG game with EVERY main character that's ever seen combat in the movies. With maybe the exception of Jar Jar, but he'd be good as a hate-slap bitch-smack character in the RPG mode. lol But of course I'd be rooting for an Arcade mode where all the glorious fantasy matches can now be enacted with great vengeance, and FURIOUS ANGER!!!! lol After seeing ROTS, I'm even more hot for having a game like this. My list of characters, hidden or not, would be. Darth's Sidious, Vader, Maul, Dooku. Princess Leia ( Boushh, Slave, Bespin, Hoth, ANH, Endor outfits) Han ( ANH, ESB, ROTJ, Endor outfits. ) Chewie Tarful All Clone and Imperial troopers from all 6 movies. Luke ( ANH, Hoth, Bespin, ROTJ, Endor outfits ) Obi-Wan ( TPM, AOTC, ROTS, ANH outfits ) Qui-Gon Jinn ( Naboo, Tatooine, Coruscant outfits ) Padme ( Naboo palace attack, AOTC Geonosian arena outfits ). Anakin ( AOTC, ROTS/ jedi purge & final duel / outfits ) Jango Fett Boba Fett ( ESB, ROTJ outfits ) Tusken Raiders Yoda ( AOTC, ROTS ) Mace Windu ( AOTC, ROTS ) All other council Jedi from TPM, AOTC, and ROTS. Captain Panaka Grievous Grievous body guard droids Poggle Emperor Royal Guards ( AOTC, ROTS, ROTJ ) Super Battle Droids Battle Droids Lando ( ESB, ROTJ skiff guard, General outfits ) Gamorrean Guards Jar Jar ( hey...he's seen battle.... , and some people would probably play him, namely the kids ) R2D2 ( he's seen battle too ) Destroyer Droids ( Droidekas ) I'm kind of out of ideas right now....but if anyone has any other ideas to add, bring em on.... AnthonyVolpe
This was already attempted years ago as Star Wars: Masters of Ter?s K?si and is widely considered one of the worst videogames of all time. I thought it was tolerable but it was no Tekken by any stretch. Playable characters included Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Boba Fett, Darth Vader, Mara Jade Skywalker, a tusken raider, a Gamorrean Guard, Arden Lyn, and Chewbacca. After the horrid reception this game received I can pretty much guarantee there will not be another 3D fighting game using the Star Wars characters unless it can get enough positive hype and distance itself far enough from Masters of Ter?s K?si. MastaRedSnappa
What?! No Wicket?! I think the problem with this game would be how to balance the characters (Jar Jar vs. Yoda). Personally, I think the Star Wars fighting game genre has been in the penalty box long enough after Masters of Teras Kasi.

I actually liked this game, like you said it wasn't super pollished but it was enjoyable, I think I still have my copy of it. The only thing was Vader was super powerful. If you got the right distance away no one could do anything againts his lightening/choke manuever. I would like to see the idea of it brought back and done better though. light saber battles were fun.
iainl
I think the problem with this game would be how to balance the characters (Jar Jar vs. Yoda). This somehow assumes that you'd want to do something other than watch Yoda slice Jar Jar into little pieces again, again, again and then a few more times for luck. Personally, rather than trying to lump in a whole mess of fighting styles and hit almighty balance issues, I'd stick to just the Jedi and Sith. Basically Soul Calibur with lightsabers, then a ranged Force move or two for each that you'd need to (a) balance up and ( make blockable (which another Force-capable character could logically do). It can't be any worse than bloody Link's unblockable bombs, anyway. edit - if memory serves, the real problem with MoTK was that it wanted to stick in all your favorite characters as well. You just can't come up with a decent way for Boba Fett to square off against ANH-era Obi-Wan (for instance). Soul Calibur works because everyone has swords. Tekken works because everyone is bare-handed. You either end up robbing some characters of their uniqueness by giving them random fighting pikes of some kind, or take the lightsabres away from the Jedi and make everyone fight with their fists (in which case, good luck to the over-60 crowd and the 3ft high dudes). Actually, maybe we're looking at the wrong one-on-one fighting game. How about Virtual On as your model, and everyone who can't use Force Lightning gets a blaster of some kind. Covak
I always enjoyed the multiplayer in the Jedi Knights games on PC. The lightsaber fighting was totally silly, but the freedom of movement along with all the force powers worked nicely, overall. I think that'd be a good starting point. Add in some simple fighting mechanics, like in Oni (only with lightsabers instead of fists and feet), and it could rock.
