They could jump as high as a super-bounce (that'll send you just above the whole map in Warlock) seemingly at will. And they were deadly-accurate with the battle rifle while flying through the air. At first we didn't know where the heck we were getting shot from. Then we finally caught a glimpse of them running: they ran at about 5 times normal speed! And they jumped up so fast that if you actually got close to one of them and started shooting them they seemed to just suddenly vanish. And then battle rifle shots rained down on your head. They'd just circle the map (quickly!) and as soon as they spotted an opponent they'd jump up and rain battle rifle on their heads. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Covak Posted June 9, 2005 Author Report Share Posted June 9, 2005 Heck yes I did I spent most of the game (it went pretty fast) just doing that (the way they talked opened them up for more than just "Cheating" feedback ). It's such an obvious cheat that I imagine it won't take Bungie long to ban them accounts. I'd be surprised if those were their real accounts, though. Sigh. Mithran Posted June 11, 2005 Report Share Posted June 11, 2005 30 to 4 It's not very hard to believe that people will do almost anything just to win a stupid game. I hope they get banned. Once someone gets banned they should be banned forever. Microsoft has their name, address and credit card number, and that would also prevent these idiots from making new accounts with the same personel info. I hope if those weren't their only accounts they cancel all their accounts. Does anyone see a problem with this? I sure as hell don't. False reports are the only bad part about this. A friend of mine was accused of cheating because he's good, so I'm sure when little pricks like those guys lose they automatically send bad feed back. Just saw a guy doing it (again on Warlock... it must have to do with hacking downloaded map files), only his battle rifle seemed to fire in like, 20 round bursts, only as fast as a 3 round burst. dogbert Posted June 23, 2005 Report Share Posted June 23, 2005 It is a map hack on the harddrive, Bungie know about it, Bungie have a fix for it they're testing out now, and Bungie are not happy that it snuck through - they're logging the names of everyone using the hack, as they can apparently tell through the server logs, and have pledged severe consequences against people using it. Mithran Posted July 20, 2005 Report Share Posted July 20, 2005 I just recently stopped playing GR2 team. I only play co-op now because asshats are starting to use those turbo controllers. I was in a room of friends but some others I didn't know came in. They were all in the same clan and everyone of them was moving and straffing like they were going warp 9. They were also able to empty their magazine in 2 seconds with perfect accuray. Mithran Posted July 21, 2005 Report Share Posted July 21, 2005 I've heard that they only have to pull the trigger once, and get the accuracy of pulling the trigger once, but the game interprets it as a bunch of trigger pulls. I guess that's how the thing works. Regardless cheaters need to be dealt with by Microsoft. Hey that could be a good job. I know there would be many people on this forum who would do it. Microsoft should hire some of the hardcore gamers to jump in to games, find and catch cheaters, and then shut their accounts down. Keep a record of the cheater so they can't start a new one either. Carlos. Yup. I've been at a loss of words with Halo 2 lately. Something has happened over the past few months and I'm not sure what it is. I've been expeirencing this problem longer more frequently than my friends' date=' but it's cropping up on them as well. Here are the major issues I've been seeing in Team Slayer matching making: [b']Killed extremely easily yet gun shoots blanks[/b] On numerous occasions I've ben killed by 2 squeezes of the trigger from the battle rifle, yet I need to almost empty an entire clip into someone. My aim isn't bad, my bullets are just not powerful it seems. This goes with a number of weapons. Meleee attacks 9 time out of 10 my melee attack will graze of someone and do no damage, even if I have the sword. If I'm emptying a clip into someone and try the melee, 1 of 3 things happen - a) I miss them even though I have lock, they melee me first even though my character clearly started the animation first, or c) it does little damage. The sword I'm usually always killed mid-lunge by smg's or whatever weapon the opponent has, yet I can never do the same. Again, my aim isn't bad at all. Grenades Splash damage seems minimal while opponents have a huge range. These a just a few of my issues. My friends are so over me bitching about it, but they have started to bitch about it happening to them as well. Oddly enough these problems aren't nearly as bad (if at all) when we play our own private custom games. I posted these problems a few months ago on Bungie forums, and aside from a few asshats saying I suck, there were some people that had the same problems. One guy had a theory about Bungie handicapping the game. I don't believe that to be the case because players with higher rankings have been owning us. I have become extremely frustrated with a game that I have highly enjoyed for many months. I'm curious if anyone here has expeirenced these problems. My love this game is really dwindling. I would experience wierd stuff like you mentioned but always assumed it was lag yet my internet connection is better than most (+800kb/s down and 80kb/s up). The frusterating part was I could have stretches where I go on killing sprees and just kicking ass in general (feeling like you cannot miss) and then in the next game have a stretch where it seems like I cannot get the upper hand no matter the situation. Then I started seeing all the cheating and whatnot with all the explotation of bugs and various other methods. Not to mention I was getting tired of the overall lack of respect and general asshatyness of the online community. I always felt like I was playing against 13-16 year old kids who spend allday finding ways to gain an advantage in multiplayer games to make their stats look good at the expense of just having some fun. I was so sick of hearing people bitch about various things and the cussing/obnoxious/rude behavior of so many people. What happened to "Man that was awesome guys. Great game!"? All I ever heard at the end of a game were complaints, insults, and silence/a general sense of boredom. I could almost hear the yawns of people in the lobby. It became a very dull, repetitive and quite frankly sad environment. It felt like after every online Halo2 game I played I became that much more less intelligent. Anyway...I feel your pain. Jeff W Posted August 3, 2005 Report Share Posted August 3, 2005 I stopped playing matchmaking altogether, between the problems mentioned here and people being too worried about their rank it's just not fun anymore. I've noticed little things before, stuff like sneaking up on a opposing team member who's mounted the machine gun of a stationary hog and emptying 2 SMG's into his back and nothing, he turns around and blasts me all to hell. I always assumed it was just me sucking at the game but now I have to wonder. I always thought they should reset the rankings then hide them, you would still be ranked but it wouldn't be displayed and would only be used by the system to match you with like ranked players, people would still cheat but it might weed out some of the rank whores and cheaters. I've started to see similiar problems with BlackHawk Down, the first few days were great, no bitching, complaining or insulting, then people figured out you get experience points and raise rank. Now if you don't call for a medic and wait for him instead of just re-spawning when you're down they all complain and start tossing f-bombs.
