Chris The Rock
Michael Jackson was acquitted today. Was there ever any doubt?

Did we all forget the term "Beyond a reasonable doubt"? If you haven't ever served jury duty, I suggest you should. It was a big learning process for myself. MastaRedSnappa
Popular pop culture figure with lots of money accused of bad things with tons of evidence giving every indication that he is guilty but is found innocent...where have I seen this before? First off, let me just say that I don't like Michael Jackson at all. The man has clearly gone insane over the years. But this comparison is a stretch. Tons of evidence? Maybe the prosecution should have presented some of it instead of presenting shaky witnesses that ended up helping the defense. In a trial without hard evidence, that's the ballgame right there. Some were camera folks, some were typical people. So If I was working my old schedule you'd ask why I was off? Not everyone works bankers hours and gets their weekends off. Romier S
But this comparison is a stretch Let me just say that I wanted to use that OJ picture for a while now. This thread simply presented the best opportunity. So the comparison is/was useless for me aside from fascilitating that look on his face. EDIT: I just find it hard to believe that there are that many Michael Jackson fans left in the world. Hey, I agree with the fact that he has indeed gone insane over the years, nor do I like his ridiculous behavior, but I will indeed always be a fan of his music. Especially his work in the 80's. General Zot
They had to let him off, the prosecution had absolutely nothing but testimonials from shaky sources who had everything to gain and not much to lose by lying. Dear lord, MJ please, please, PLEASE stop inviting kids to sleep in your bed with you. We don't understand it, we can't understand it. Cyberwoo
Guilty or not the whole thing is just wierd. On the one hand Michael Jackson could indeed be a nice guy who is just trying to live like a kid because he missed out on a normal childhood. So he invites kids over, has a freakin zoo and theme park, etc. BUT having kids sleep over is a HUGE no no. I dont care what his intentions are. Unfortunately he is too wacko and detached from reality to see that. He needs to stop having kids over and he needs to freakin start acting like a normal human being and grow up. On the other hand he could be a psychotic/freakshow/child molesting/drug and alcohol addicted wack job. I understand there are probably parents falsely accusing MJ of alot of stuff to try and get some of his $ but there is just too much smoke for there to not be a fire somewhere. One other thing. I am what I consider to be a really nice guy but I know that I am quiet, work nights, and hardly ever see my neighbors. I am 30yrs old, male and live by myself (with my dog). Anytime I am outside and the neighbor kids want to come over to see the dog, see a video game, or whatever I do not let any of them in the house (or anywhere else where others cannot see us) unless a parent or some other adult is with them. This is just common sense. It doesn't look right for me to have some kid in my house unnatended even though my neighbors know me to be a nice guy. All you need to do is watch the news to understand that. Hell I had a neighbor kid who is all of 4-5years old climb my backyard fence to try and play with my dog. I about had a heartattack. 1) my dog could have hurt him and I could be liable and 2) someone might think I invited him in. Anyway my point is MJ needs to be more aware of how people see him. He needs to realize he is +40yrs old and he needs to start acting like it. He can have all the best intentions in the world and be a super nice guy but it doesn't mean he should be doing some of the things he is doing. Oh and I agree with Capt regarding the "fans" outside the courthouse allday. I always get a chuckle when I see those people. How can you be so supportive of someone you don't even know personally. Crazy stuff.
Camp
The one thing I want to know is dont the 1000 or more people outside the courthouse have jobs at 2:30pst in the afternoon? Next time there's a major celebrity trial I'm going to be prepared. I'll be outside the courthouse selling funnel cakes, hats with those built-in fans (to keep over-zealous fans cool on a hot day) and anything stamped with "Jesus" on it. Sweet, we wanna see you on TV Camp . I dunno, I guess I'm in the Michael Jackson = total weirdo camp myself and I don't like the cult of celebrity period, let alone where he's concerned. However, as noted, limited evidence and an accuser who was dubious at best doesn't give me any indication of "beyond a shadow of a doubt" to me. merlot
MJ is a complete nut job. I never really paid much attention to the trial due to my natural reaction to puke anytime his photo was flashed on the screen so I have no comment on the outcome of his trial. I do, however, agree with Cyberwoo's comments.
