Carlucci
Finally a diet soda I can actually drink! I've tried them all, but none ever tasted good enough. I tried Diet Coke in all its varieties, and all the other brands. I had high hopes for the Diet Coke with Splenda, but the aftertaste was too much. Every one always said "you'll get used to it", but I just couldn't. Coke Zero was introduced this month, and I got a chance to try it today. It tastes way more like regular coke than any of the others, AND I got no aftertaste from drinking it. Give it a try! I'm sold. Now, I've just got to find somewhere other than vending machines. I hope they have room on the shelves for it at the local stores. Carlos.
Whooter
You must be in a test market. I've never even heard of it...
MastaRedSnappa
Every one always said "you'll get used to it", but I just couldn't. As a former hardcore Coke user (the soda!), I never thought I would get used to the taste of Diet Coke. I did, however, and now Coke tastes too sweet for me. I'll have to give Coke Zero a whirl but if it has the same "sweetness" as Coke, I'll probably stick with Diet Coke (I'm assuming this isn't to replace Diet Coke, right?). rustyjaw
So what's in it? I too have never been able to tolerate fake sweeteners. I'd much rather drink water than a soda with artificial sugar.
Josh
So what's in it? I too have never been able to tolerate fake sweeteners. I'd much rather drink water than a soda with artificial sugar. Looked this up at cocacolazero.com since I was curious as well. It uses a "blend of aspartame" (which we already know as NutriSweet) and "acesulfame potassium (ace-k)" whatever the hell that is. GreenMonkey
It's interesting, there are 3 different phsyiological ways people react to artificial sweeteners as I heard (I think from my psych 101 professor). Some people taste no aftertaste, some people taste it a bit, and some people taste it a lot. I'm in the "a lot" category. Nutrasweet/asparteme is the worst for me, what a horrible aftertaste. Splenda isn't as bad but definitely still there. The Coke C2 / Pepsi Edge sugar/artificial sweetener blend almost god rid of it, but still, icky aftertaste. I'll give this a shot, but I can't stand the aftertastes, and I'm amazed that other people don't taste it. Honestly I don't mind too much, because I consider Nutrasweet very questionable as far as all the health studies and people that have been poisoned by it and stuff. Spike
I'm gonna try to find this and give it a shot. I hate the taste/aftertaste of artificial sweetener, and to make things worse aspartame hurts my stomach quite a bit. I have a hard time finding gum without aspartame in it. Starhawk
I used to drink sodas all the time when I was a kid/teenager, and I hated diet drinks. Then I found out I had Type I Diabetes (not related to sugar intake or anything). I basically had to start drinking diet sodas, as I didnt like drinking water. To this day, I can't stand the taste of a regular soda. Diet only for me. I also don't like the thought of taking in 35+ grams of carbs (all sugars) in liquid form. I'm a firm believer that most people can get used to drinking/eating almost anything differently. Now, I drink tons of water, sometimes coffee, and beer on the weekends. I'll have a diet Mountain Dew or Diet Sun Drop every now and then, but it's pretty rare. (Sun Drop is the best if you have it in your market!) I'll try coke zero whenever it gets to NC. Spike
This stuff has aspartame in it. See above. Yep, but I'm still going to try it. Over the years I think I've tried all of the quasi-diet soft drinks they've made, like Pepsi Max or that Coke C2 stuff and the stuff with Splenda in it, just to see if I like them and if they bother me or not. The amount of sugar I consume is pretty high and I want to cut it back, so if I could find a "diet" soda I can live with it would be great. merlot
I stopped drinking soda regularly a long time ago and now drink bottled water on a regular basis. I still like it on occasion, but I like to limit my sugar intake. I use Splenda in my coffee, and after using it for a while, it's just as good as sugar to me, with no after taste. JoeyN
Coca Cola Zero :tu:tu:tu I hate the tast of diet coke/pepsi. Since im trying to loose weight I drink mostly water, but i also like to drink Diet Sierra Mist or Sprite Zero. Tried Coca Cola Zero today and its excellent. Taste almost like regular coke and no aftertaste at all. Finally in between all these flavored sodas which go away quickly, they come out with a new type of soda that is good. capt
