Problems With Xbox Live Headset

Has anyone had a problem with the xbox live headset? I can't seem to hear anyone, but yet they all can hear me! It's frustratin to play a game not knownin whats goin on in the team :mad:. I tried another headset other than my own... Another controller... The settings... I tried all the ways possible but I still am not able to hear anything... If you have any solutions i would really appreciate it... Thank you.

Did you try another one of the xbox headset dongles that plugs into your controller? What's your network setup like? Are you hooked up via a router or doing a direct connect. If by router have you tried a direct connection and if so do you still have the same problem?

 

There's always 800 4MY-XBOX for customer support, although YMMV with them. :)

you see thats the funny thing... Thats the only way they hear me, if i send a message to them! But when i'm in a lobby and during a game no one hears me (and no im not muting myself and no no one is muting me) It's really wierd and i'm fed up... I'm tryin to play some halo and it's very frustrating! I damn near cried when I couldn't hear what was goin on and I kept losing... :(

yes i have tried another headset, the thing that the headset goes into, a new controller, etc. Still doesn't seem to work :bh! Im connected by a router but I dont see how that could effect my headset in anyway :confused:...

 

I have communications issues with one person that I play with alot, if I'm running through my router we can't talk to each other, if I'm running a direct connect we can. I'd try a direct connect and see if you have similar voice issues. Changes to port forwarding and/or router firmware updates might help you out. Also, is your router on the approved router list for XBL?
